You most certainly will have upset their territories, I would either change it back to how it was or get a dry flannel, wipe over the said cats face and place this in the bed where he sleeps, the flannel will then be covered in his pheromones, which he will be able to smell which will make him feel alot more secure. Give the meds ago, they did help for awhile, then seem to not be as effective once the cat was slowly taken off them, not something you want your cats on all the time. Another thing to try is, include the 2 cats in games together, and praise them when they play nicely, this will make the more timid one become more confident over time. These are all things that the Cat Physcologist recommended to me, when I had trouble with my Cats. Good Luck Lynda

I had this problem a few years back, rung my Local Council Office, told them the situation and they happily supplied a Cage. Once the Cat was caught, I could either take it to them to deal with or I could deal to the cat myself, I was told by the Council, the most humane way to put it out of it's misery was to pop it in a plastic bag, tape the bag onto the exhaust pipe of the Car and it would die from Carbon Monoxide Posioning, apparently its not painful they just sort of go to sleep, so Hubby had the job of doing this, being the animal lover that I am I couldn't bring myself to do it, he died rather peacefully, although he didn't like being locked up in the cage and made abit of noise when he realised he was locked in a cage. Hope this helps, I know it doesn't sound like a nice thing to do, but if he is carrying dieases which he more than likely is, then you will be risking your cats catching something from him if they end up in a fight. Good Luck with whatever you decide to do. Lynda

Good Luck with this :-? I have 4 Cats, 3 Males and 1 Female, 2 of the Males and the Female were into the spraying in the house regularly, all because a Stray Tom Cat had come through their Cat Door and sprayed on a couple of trays of eggs I had sitting on the Bench, ever since then my Cats have felt threatened by this, which in turn makes them want to remark their territory to let the Stray Tom Cat know this is their territory not his. I've had all of my Cats on Colmicalm an Anti depressant, in conjunction with using Feliway Spray, this is a Pheromone Spray, along with using a dry flannel, wiping this over their faces the rubbing it on the Furniture basically to mark it with their scent. None of these things worked for my Cats. I ended up taking them all to a Cat Pshycologist at Massey in Palmy. Her opinion was basically to keep doing what I was doing, along with feeding every cat seperately, making sure they had different play things everyday, their own sleeping quarters etc... After all my time and effort, not to mention the amount of $$$$$ it cost me, nothing fixed the problem. We have now sold the house that we were in at the time, we had 13 cats between 4 neighbours, so that didn't help either. We have built a new house on a Lifestyle Block now and the Cats have their own purpose built Cattery outside, they love it, I have 5 cats now, I inherited another boy when my nan passed away last year, the Cats are all put away into the cattery at night, they all have their own sleeping quarters and feeding stations, and private toilet area. We let them out in the mornings, at times we open the gate to the cattery and they just sit there chillin out in the sun or I will find them in the Cattery during the Day just chilling out. I'm hoping your situation wont be as frustrating as mine, and you find a far less expensive option to fixing this behaviour. The Vet always comments on what a great setup the cattery is when he comes out to do their yearly checkups. Lynda

Excellent Info phoenix My algae problem seems to finally be under control, not sure if it's the API Plant Food I'm using or if it's the 3 Black Line Flying Foxes (Crossocheilus siamensis) that I now have in the Tank. Great to finally see it disappearing after all this time :bounce:

Guess what I found this morning when I opened....

Congratulations on the safe arrival of you Baby Bunnies :bounce: I used to breed Mini Lop Earred Rabbits for Animates, beautiful wee creatures, you will be suprised at how quick they grow. Just a word of warning, I would be seperating Dad from Mum, they are prolific Breeders, Dad will usually mate again with Mum as soon as she has finished giving birth. May already be to late, you may find you end up with another Litter of Kits in around 4 weeks time. Good Luck -
He's a right little Stunner, posing for the Camera I would just be abit careful with him over Summer, he will burn very easily. I would be plastering his nose and ears with sunscreen before letting him outside.

what would stop my female livebearers "drop" their fry?
LYNDYLOO replied to aquadude's topic in Livebearers
Maybe the Fry are being eaten  -
Personally, I wouldn't be putting them in a Tank any Smaller than 250-300 Ltrs, they are a very fast moving Fish, this would depend on the size of the Fish aswell of course. I used to have 6 Silver Dollars together, unfortunately my plants didn't last long I was amazed at how they should strip a Tank full of Plants overnight.

Dont feed your Rabbit lettuce, it will end up with Diarreha As Mark said, Adult rabbits only feed their Young twice a day, for all of about 2 minutes each feed. I used to breed Mini Lop Earred Rabbits for Animates, when it was feed time it was like a feeding frenzy at night, first time I heard them I wondered what on earth was going on, then the penny dropped, first in first served I guess. Personally if it's eyes were open adn it was covered in Fur it probably is around 2 weeks old, probably just venturing out of the Burrow, maybe you could try popping it back where you found it, and see what happens.

Hi Chris, Sorry to hear you are having problems with your Discus. I was told by Discusguru when I had a Discus that wasn't looking to good, to treat with, 400mg of Metro per 40 Ltrs of Water, treat every 8-12 hours, as Metro will not be effective after 8-12 hours, I would treat at 8am in the morning then do 100% Water Change before treating again at 8pm at night. Did this for a Total of 6 Tablets. To do a 100% Water Change, I used to take water from the Hospital Tank and place in a bucket, net the Discus then place into the Bucket, fully drain the Tank, wipe out with a clean cloth, then refill with Water a similar temp to the Water that has been drained from the Tank. Re Net the Discus and pop him back into the Tank. My Discus would end up happily swimming into the net for me after a couple of treatments, so shouldn't be to difficult for you. If you are needing some Metro I have a few spare, $1 a Tablet + Postage. Good Luck Lynda

For some silly reason I always thought they were Egglayers Obviously Not   Awesome Stuff Matt

Love your Big Piece of Driftwood :bounce: Tank looks good carlos

I use the Non Stratch Scouring pad that you pop onto the end of the Handle thingy, that you fill up with Dishwashing Liquid. Obviously I don't fill the Handle with Dishwashing Liquid. I find the Non Scratch Pads alot less harsh than the normal scouring pads.

My Discus Tank sits between 29-30 When they were younger they used to hide behind the Driftwood in the Tank alot, they are definitely alot more out there these days, they normally only hide behind the driftwood now, if they are scared.

One of those pipes will be fine twinkles. Personally I have found if they're in the Mood to Breed, they will Lay their Eggs on whatever they can.

Don't feed them untill they are Free Swimming and have used up ALL their Egg Sac. Then feed with Microworms, you may need to get a culture off somebody on here, you can feed Hatched Baby Brine Shrimp aswell. Feed 5-6 times a Day, with small water changes daily, they will only need to be in a Tank of shallow Water. I used to have them in just enough Water, to make sure the Heater was covered. I would remove Mum and Dad and raise them yourself. Mum and Dad will more than likely Eat them.
