  1. I do agree with you henward, but not all of us can have whooping big tanks like yours  I think Cardinals look great in a good sized group.
  2. Your tanks about 25 ltrs then, I wouldn't be popping much in it, maybe a nice school of Neon Tetras or Cardinals, they're nice and bright, be nice for a small tank.
  3. API Ferts do give the Water abit of a yellow tinge, seems to fade after awhile. I've just bought some PMDD off Trade Me, will be interesting to see how it goes.
  4. Splish Splash Tank Never heard of them before Cant see any reason why you couldn't add a heater to turn it into a Tropical Tank What are the dimensions of the Tank??? I've just googled it, should be fine
  5. I've just bought some PMDD off Trade Me, will let you know how it goes, currently using API Plant Food and DIY CO2.
  6. Yea, Ben from Levin won the Pimp your Tank Comp about a month ago, he is a poster on here, but not very often, he won aTank and Stand, he's totally wrapt Going to set up the Tank in the Lounge I'm told, good on him :bounce: Not sure if Animates Comps are based on regions or if there is just 1 overall winner, I'm sure p44 will let us know how it works
  7. Well all I can say is "That will teach ya to be sooooo lazy" lmao
  8. Interesting read Phoenix44 Had my new pair of Discus lay 4 days ago, Mum and Dad took turns at looking after the eggs, eggs hatched 3 days later, they have now eaten them, so hoping for better luck next time.
  9. I agree with Ryan, goldfishman does have some awesome Discus
  10. If you dehusk them first Henward, then you dont have this problem
  11. Phoenix: You are one strange guy
  12. Have already been down the track of having a Custom Built Tank, Stand and Lid made Ron, to be honest I cant be bothered with the Mucking around. I have my last Custom Built Tank now sitting in the Garage collecting Dust, wont fit in where my exsisting Tank is now. Just thought the Juwel was a darn good price too, think they retail for round the 4G mark, so 1/2 price is pretty good.
  13. All I can say is Stay away from the Elite Brand of Heaters, I come home from work a couple of weeks ago, went to feed my Fish, opened the lid and thought man this is abit hot, hmmmm Tank had gone from 25-37 degress, lost 5 of my Sunshine Peacocks, COOKED
  14. Thanks for your views guys Hmmm might have to look into the warranty if I remove the Internal Filter aye  Have 8 Big Discus now, so really wanting to upgrade to a bigger Tank, so then I can get more :bounce:
  15. Maybe replace the Water Filter cartridge then go from there
  16. Has anyone got one of these or had one?? Any for's or against's for this Tank?? I'm looking at upgrading my Aqua One 980 (215Ltrs) Discus Tank, to a Juwel Vision 450 (450 Ltrs). I have been offered a Brand new one for $2000 Not sure I'm liking the idea of the whopping big filter in the Corner of the Tank, is this easy enough to remove?? I would rather pop a couple of External Filters on the Tank instead. Look forward to hearing your views. Lynda
  17. Congrats on your Spawn :bounce: Can you tell me how to tell the difference between Male and Female?? If got 10 Rummys, not sure what the difference is.
  18. Funny thing is alot of people's Forum Name's trick you, there are alot more girlys here than you may think there is I've been stung a couple of times, referring to somebody as a He when in fact it was a She  or the other way round, all because that person's Forum name made me assume they where either Male or Female. Lynda
  19. Totally Stunning :bounce: I'm adding to my Collection of Discus also, getting a Malboro Red and a Red Snakeskin, Breeding Pair soon Cant wait, will take my total upto 8, seriously wanting a bigger Tank now. Lynda
  20. Did you PM Ron about his Discus, his prices are very reasonable?? Excellent Guy to deal with too
  21. Have you got somebody interested in buying him?? If not, I'm interested Let me know what you think.
  22. Sounding like it's got White Spot, treat with Wunder Tonic White Spot treatment, the reason I recomment this one is because most White Spot treatments say you need to turn the temp upto 28 Degrees, obviously you cant do that with it being a coldwater fish. Do a water change after 3 days then re-treat. Good Luck Lynda
  23. Hmmm What temp do you have your Discus at??? Should be round 29-30 degrees Aren't Axolotl Cold Water fish?? Personally, I wouldn't be putting the 2 together, I would also be putting your 2 Discus into a Bigger Tank, Discus need about 50 ltrs per Fish.
