  1. I have heard about Fay's tank and it was good to be able to see it. Thanks for the link.
  2. So does that make it memorably average or averagely memorable?
  3. I was in a lfs in Nelson a couple of weeks ago and neons were over $4.00! I just about had a heart attack
  4. I'm afraid I have reached the end of my questions :-? I'm not too good in the disease department. Can anyone else suggest something?
  5. Is she eating normally? Has the behaviour been like this since she was moved? She might be sulking without her mates :-?
  6. I had a tank with water and filter and plants. Added fish. Waited a while. Found fry. They are not fussy and don't need anything special. One of our members bred them in tropical and cold and found he had more success with them in warmer water but I found the opposite :-?
  7. Hi and welcome. I would like to point out the exception to the Trademe rule; exception - if you are genuinely interested in buying the item and want to learn more about the use of the item and if it will be ok for your purpose
  8. I never have any veges left over from my dinner :-?
  9. My apologies  I saw the blue ram bit and not the electric
  10. Not without more information. What size is the tank and what tank mates? Are the other fish fine?
  11. I have a manual for Fluval 104, 204, 304 & 404. It says; Place the filter in desired location beside or beneath the aquarium. Since the filter uses gravity feed, ensure the filter is stationed below the water level of the aquarium. The it has an outlined box with these words in bold Filter must never be installed above water level. My Jebo 819 manual says "It must use below the water surface of the tank". It alo says "Move the machine by holding its bottom, not only the ouches, other wise the ouches and the machine body will be broken, water will enter and cause accident" And then there's the "In case of accident, pull off the power plugs of this machine and other electrical appliances which may also cause leakage of electricity and fire."
  12. I believe Tom_Shannon has been advertrising them in the PT&E section. I had some brought down from Hamilton for me to take to a member in Nelson.
  13. You may all thank me for putting wok in the mood to bake chocolate cakes!
  14. I had a 4ft set up like that. Hollow cinder blocks were handy as you could tuck stuff into the holes
  15. Perfectly normal. What is the room temperature overnight? This has a bearing on tank temperature and how fast it drops or how hard the heater has to work to keep it up to temperature. 25 from 27 is nothing and still within standard temperature range. My tank sits at about 22
  16. Reckon we should have a choccy cake competition? I think wok could give her a run for her money. I volunteer to be the judge!!
  17. Shells will raise the pH. Good if you have Africans but not good in a community tank. Perhaps she could line them up in front of the tank, or on top of it instead
  18. I never noticed the user control panel had a little person icon on it
  19. How come the birthday girl has to bake her own cake?
  20. You might also consider joining the Tasman Aquarium Club. Some of their members have large tanks and could show you what their stands look like and how to go about it. Check out the home page (click on the logo top left of the page) under clubs. Helen is their contact and she will be able to help.
  21. Love that last pic. It is too cold down here for them to be spawning yet
  22. Aren't these marine fish? (I don't know if they are livebearers). You might get more response if this was in the marine section. Would you like it moved?
