  1. Just discus and kuli loaches, the number of baby otto's has reduced alot since yesterday. We can only see about 6 in there tonight and there were at least 16 yesterday
  2. We have just noticed we have baby otocinclus in our discus tank. They are about 1cm long and still transparent. Now we just have to hope they don't become dinner. We haven't breed any fish before so this is all new for us and a very big supprise. Any tips on how to raise them etc would be most appreciated. Thanks.
  3. The darkness spread from it's stomach very quickly after the photo and the fish died about an hour later. All up from the time he was noticeably sick it took about three hours... Very curious as to what it may have been? All other fish are still fine.
  4. Hi all, One of our discus that laid eggs last week has gone slightly pale in colour and is hanging around the top of the tank by itself. We haven't seen it eat today but it still looks like it has a full belly. It is also getting a dark patch up the side of it's belly. There are no other signs of disease or parasites etc. We have added epsom salt in case it's bloat. Have checked water parameters and all are fine. All the other discus seem fine.
  5. We were too late with the heater... They were all cooked and then eaten, so will have to wait for the next attempt to find out if they're a true pair. Got a terracotta cone today, so hopefully they'll use that next time. Only another couple of weeks hopefully
  6. We have put an extra heater in and turned the temperature down on the heater the eggs are on. We do water changes every other day but will start doing them every day now that we have eggs. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone and please keep them coming.
  7. Here's mum, dad and their eggs. :bounce:
  8. Hi again, We have just noticed there are pinky coloured eggs on the heater in the tank. :bounce: How do we know if they are male and female or 2 females? Will the eggs make it if they are on the heater? Thanks
  9. Hi all, Our hiding discus are out and about alot more at the moment . Our 2 Red Snakeskins are hanging around the corner of the tank by the heater and chase any other dicus that comes near them away, they do go back and join the rest of their family when they aren't hanging out alone or if they are frightened back behind the driftwood. They are about 10 months old. Could this mean they may be pairing up?

    Hiding Discus

Hmmmmm. My water temp fluctuates between 27 - 28. Is that too cold for discus?

    Hiding Discus

Hi, We have a 300L tank with six discus, some neons and a few bottom feeders int it. There is a large piece of driftwood in the tank the discus ALWAYS hide behind. Any ideas on how to make them more interactive? Thanks Matt & Emily
  15. Otocinclus! :bounce: We got three for our old tank and they go to town on brown algae. They do such a great job cleaning the tank and they even manage to clean up leaves without damaging the plants. They're quite small too so not much bio load.
