  2. As long as it doesn't make us cry again - like the Animal Rescue segment
  3. I think we are all at a loss, or someone would have suggested something already &c:ry
  4. For those even older, not only did you sit School Cert, but you had to sit 5 subjects and pass all 5 or you didn't get the certificate at all!
  5. si-sphinx I emailed you re your other freshwater article. Please respond It can be a hard decision if you can only have one tank at a time but try to enjoy the freshwater longer before starting marine. It is also important to have a nice surrounding for your tank and stand so house repairs/renovations etc are important. spoon - all talk and no action. This is typical!!! I did not like to ask you again knowing the troubles you have had with the quakes. :tears:

    The What's Up? thread.

On December 29th I ordered some books from The Book Depository. They are UK based and offer worldwide free shipping. A lot cheaper to buy new on there than it is to pay the stupid prices people are now asking for 2nd hand books on Trademe (and then they want too much for postage)! All 11 books arrived today (excellent service considering the New Year break) in individual wrapping and 7 had bookmarks enclosed as well. I now have bookmarks that tell or show me; 1. how to tie 14 basic and useful knots 2. Capitals, dialing codes, and currencies around the world 3. F to C temp conversions and different cooking measurement conversions 4. an easy chart for 2 - 12 times tables 5. Morse code plus the NATO phonetic alphabet  I now have some reading material for a few days. :happy1:
  8. Fingers crossed for all awaiting results.

    Filter mat

Not all sponges are equal and some are not suitable for aquarium use (due to densities etc) but if the cheap stuff does the job for whatever you are using it for, then go for it.

No cat prints through the deck paint job?
  11. Pantyhose works excellently. Just make sure you have permission to use the pair you have your eye on and the owner's leg is removed
  12. I would agree with Sophia. Looks like a dislodged scale.

Yes. You get your warfarin levels checked regularly because it can rise and fall depending on activity and diet. If it goes up too far you can bleed to death (sometimes from internal bleeding). If it is too low - blood clots. :tears:

Spent an hour in the Emergency Department with parents after dad suffered sudden severe pain in his leg but refused to activate his medical alarm or call an ambulance  Of course we turn up just after a car accident had come in (I had wondered where the fire engines had gone with wailing sirens and the police cars with their flashing lights then discovered they were just down the road from my place). Actually an hour isn't too bad considering how long we have had to wait other times. Dad is fine, just torn a thigh muscle so has to take it easy for a few weeks (as if he ever does anything but take it easy!). We were concerned about possible blood clot as he is on warfarin (and half a pharmacy) but luckily this was not the case. Better to be safe than sorry though.
  15. I have recorded it but yet to watch it.
  16. Better yet, get your neighbour interested in fish keeping and then, once he has his own tank up and running, he is only too pleased to look after your fish while you are away knowing that you will do the same for him
  17. I would suggest Java moss and fern too. My Anubias didn't seem to mind being overshadowed by other plants either so it did not get much light on it.
  18. Go to our Home Page and you will find them under Clubs
  19. TV1 tonight, Man to Manta, with Martin Clunes. Might be interesting. :spop:

Here it is - 1500 pieces... just a small one.
  21. Yum. Are the carrots supposed to be that shape?
