  1. I am sure your tank is not as deep as a cow's behind You can buy extra long gloves from farm supply stores (or probably vets too). Bloodworm allergy is common although not a factor in my case as I do not feed bloodworm to my fish. Knock off the blood worms a few days before you plan to have your arm in the tank and see if it makes a difference.
  2. I get that sometimes and have no riccia (but who knows what different people are allergic to). I thought it was possibly small bugs living in the plants and biting me as it does not happen all the time and, when it does, seems to be mainly the part of the arm that was near the surface.

I sat and watched Joe pull a huge clump of plant out of my tank then replant some good bits and add more sagittaria while his mum and I enjoyed a drink and she added a few more pieces to my jigsaw. I am finally able to work on it myself again :happy2: Am onto my second day without painkillers or anti-inflammatories  The rain stopped for a wee while but has started again. Never mind, we needed it. It is supposed to clear this afternoon.
  4. A good improvement. Are you still using medication or has the course finished?

Working on the next Aquarium World today as it is raining. We have had 70mm in the last 24 hours. This bath had a bit of damp algae in the bottom of it yesterday lunchtime. This is what it looks like now... The pond has filled up a bit too 8) Good to get such a solid amount at this time of year. Means we won't have water rationing etc in a month or two.

In what way? I had The Book Depository recommended to me by several people and I have been using it with no problems whatsoever. I am about to order another lot of books from there as it is cheaper to buy them new from there than buy the same books second hand from Trademe  Got the lawn mowed this morning then biked to town and back and got the washing in just before the rain started :happy2:
  7. Give them a good scrub if they have algae or something on them. Check holes and crevices for bugs. You might want to check they are inert. Put them in a container and pour a little vinegar on them. If it fizzes then don't use it unless you want to raise the pH.
  8. Karen Carpenter does a lovely version of Ave Maria too
  9. Don't tempt fate Trilobite!! I assume the fighters will be given names like Rex, Fido, Spot etc? :slfg:
  10. Did he like the little hat and read out the joke?

We just rolled home stuffed full of goodies. Not as bad as Kelly though. As a teacher, she received really thoughtful gifts like 7 boxes of Cadbury's Favourites, 2 boxes of Roses plus other sundry brand chocolates
  12. If you head into Blenheim Donna, give us a call and come for a visit
  13. Nothing wrong with the look of yours. I have not tried the other recipe as I do not like peppermint but still intend to try the Malva thing (just haven't got around to it yet with so much other food around)
  14. What a sweetie. He must take after his mum
  15. That is good news! Here's hoping he continues to improve enough to have good quality of life.
  16. mcrudd I just realised I took pics of the trifles the other day then forgot to show you. They were covered with whipped cream and fruit just before the party started but I forgot to take a pic of the finished product. Can do so tomorrow morning as I have made 3 more for the BBQ tomorrow. Add the sponge Add jam and about half a cup of fruit juice (or sherry). Sliding a knife down the sides allows the jam to drop down making pretty patterns around the edge. Add custard (I used bought stuff) Top with whipped cream and the topping of your choice. We use 100's and 1,000, choc hail, strawberries, kiwifruit or whatever you like.
  17. What a shame &c:ry As said, good you took a pic before the collapse! :happy2:
  18. Looking good! Just tell people it is based in Christchurch
  19. Anyone needing a break from the shakes, give me a call. I have 2 bedrooms free (1 queen bed, 2 single and stretchers) and plenty of room to pitch a tent (can supply a couple of family tents too if required) or park a camper van.
