  1. I never noticed guinea pigs smell particularly. We kept ours outside in a large run with a wooden house at one end and it gets to -4 or more here in winter. We also kept some in the bottom of our bird aviary. They have fur - 16C isn't that cold. A better choice than rats or mice
  2. It works the same way as most other forums I belong to. What are you having trouble with? Email the pic to me (click on the email button at the bottom left of my post) and I will post it for you.
  3. If anyone from anywhere else would like to come for the weekend, let me know. I am sure we can find beds etc
  4. I can see people fronting up to Plunket asking for their fish to be weighed and measured :slfg:
  5. But it is one tank dear - one for the livebearers, one for the Africans, one for the fry..... :rotf:
  6. I'm sorry I asked! I was more thinking about the aggressive nature of Africans than the pH as I successfully kept, and bred, Africans at 7.2 so I know many fish adapt to pH differences.
  7. People can set up marines more cheaply as they have built in wave makers :slfg:

  11. She was named Indy, after Indiana Jones, as she is good at exploring and getting stuck in tight places.
  12. The human is my son. The puppy (granddaughter) is Indy. This is their second border collie. The other is called Kiba (she's about 2 yrs I think) and Indy is meant to be a playmate for her. They have the same mum but different dad and a few litters apart.
  13. Sorry you aren't able to make it this year Ade &c:ry

  18. Keep your arms and legs in so the sharks won't mistake you for a seal
  19. The mossies at my place form big rafts all by themselves, not attached to anything. Looks like blobs of soot on the water surface.

Good to hear they will go into a bigger tank as they will need it. Are the calicos short or long finned? Comets are really better in a pond. Aquariums are for the long finned varieties that don't swim about much.

Also, as the goldfish grow those filters will not be adequate. What sort of goldfish?
  22. Sophia, an article of warning about your problem for the AW would be wonderful. Then all may learn from your mistake
  23. Whenever you have the time raeh1 it would be appreciated. I do have one marine article now as a result of my plea
  24. Jennifer can tell you all about them I think. Very noisy. We had a red bellied conure. Much quieter and great personality.
