    Kribs

Put pantyhose or similar over the uplift.
  4. I could breed danios in an outdoor pond here over summer very easily (in a year with better weather than we have had in the past 3 years  ) as the temp of my breeding ponds sits about 27 - 28C. All depends on where you live.
  5. Hmmm in that case I had better make some changes to one of the May AW articles
  6. If you scroll down the page you can see links to other raptor webcams.
  7. Oooh some action! It is daylight and she just got up, studied her 2 eggs, did a 360 then some housekeeping before settling again. Why do I keep checking out this eagle??
  8. As you can see, the majority of turtles that turn up at Donna's are in need of extensive nursing and medical help, including expensive things like X-rays. All this costs money! If you can help Donna with a donation, please contact her through [email protected] or http://www.turtlerescue.co.nz
  9. Angels love the tannin coloured water.

Speed isn't always a good thing
  11. I can see it - it is night and the eagle is sleeping
  12. Done. Perhaps we should change the title to "What not to do to your turtle"
  13. They are quite happy down to 18C. They are not coldwater fish but temperate and can be kept in an unheated tank if the room temperature stays 18C or above.
  14. Kudos to you and your dedication Donna.

Perhaps the old one had not been seated correctly? :dunno:
  16. I don't have any tips but know several lawn mowing franchisees who seem to have more work than they can handle!
  17. You obviously have a slow pair. Most manage to do it while in the bag on the way home
  18. You're welcome. I got mine today too :happy1:
  19. welcome I suggest you add your location to your profile. Not sure who is keeping killies down there at the moment. If you are joining the Dunedin Aquarium Club then they will be able to help you. They are a friendly bunch and a good mix of experienced, and not so much so. There are not many killies available in NZ as the NZKA has not been too active lately and some species have been dying out. Hard to get them back in the country once they are gone! They are not often seen in shops either. It is not so much a case of insulating the tanks, but insulating the room they are in. I have polystyrene under mine but that is because of quakes more than for insulation.
  20. Sure thing. Just keep us informed and we will see what we can do. I have one club member who lives next door and the rest are not too far apart for most to attend an impromptu meeting, or cuppa.
  21. It is illegal to remove anything from parks and reserves. Having said that, it would not be a problem if you found a nice washed up piece of driftwood. They do not want you digging up plants etc. Do not attempt to order any plant material in from overseas as all is banned unless, as said, you get the biosecurity clearance but this is cost prohibitive. Thank you for taking the time to check out our laws before attempting any of this
