Mine ran for 4 years straight with no probe replacement simply calibrated when it went outside the 1 degree accuracy. I was very happy with it.

I used the below unit for years with no issue, tested against a pen probe and two liquid tests. You can perform a water change and watch the ph swing (depending how you do your water change). http://www.ebay.com/itm/Digital-pH-Meter-Water-Tester-pH-Monitor-for-Aquarium-Replaceable-BNC-probe-ATC-/400315316022?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d34a6f736
  4. Wrong choice of plecs. Both require high levels of oxygen coming from areas where rapids are abundant and considering your use of co2 i doubt you will have very high surface agitation, while they will not directly damage your plants they will break stems and uproot them with very little trouble. The gold nugget will dig it's own hide which will end up being your back corner by the look's. They will both fight and compete for food which will require you to feed each end of the tank, also being a plec they are renown for going without food becoming extremely under weight but from view-able positions looking healthy and fit. Both produce large amounts of waste that by the look's will not be removed by your filter, meaning constant manual removal. Heavy lighting will not be tolerated leaving relatively expensive fish reclusive. There overall size i would assume you have taken into consideration. I don't mean to come off as overly aggressive but these facts will inhibit the growth of your plants and joy of your fish.

  12. They where imported once upon a time many years ago when adult wild caught Loricariidae where bought in by supplier that has since stopped, considering there still very valuable over sea's i doubt they will hit nz without a nasty price tag. There will be none left within Nz since that time, and im yet to see rock hard evidence that what was imported was indeed L25 to start.
  13. Anybody got higher than normal amounts of lavender coming through?
  14. I had large amounts in my micro worm cultures, simply yeast bread and water. If you where to mash the bread or add banana it should be fine enough to work with.
