Id love to see maf do anything about this considering it is simply a matter of lowering the water level to have them undergo the change. If this individual is to cause an issue all axolotl would have to come off the market.

Mine i rigged the jager up to, some have a simple plug and play. simply setting the heater to full load and tell the thermostat what you want and it will controll the heater.

I keep/germinate mine inside all year round (bhut jolokia). -
There is literally hundreds of different species within different family's that could be imported with no adverse effect (and be screened for any disease prior) but this would require DOC to do some work which isn't going to happen.

What where these fish sold to you as?, it is very unlikely these are more than Ancistrus sp3. Not many Ancistrus are pure strains in captivity and very very few are wild caught due to being relatively dull and cheap in comparison to most wild caught loricariidae. Congratulations none the less!
