  1. no not a paint scraper, get a stiff back razor. have heard from others here that a paint scraper can scratch. the diffrence is that a scraper is made from a solid wedge shaped pice of steel while a stiff back razor is a scraper that has a stanley knife blade as the scraper. sounds expencive but i got one from the $2 shop
  2. no theyre allways friendly normally hang out with each other the only sign of agressiveness in the tank is that ive only noticed a couple of chunks taken out of my male guppies tail and i saw the bigger angel chase the smaller one for 2 seconds, thats it. have just added 4 albino angels to the tank today aswell but no agression shown after they where added

i had tried it once and picked up the nest and eggs with a container (like a chinnese takeout dish) and left it floating ontop of the tank, they hatched and grew but fed them to other fish as i was about to move. i didnt do anything to the water with the nest.

have you tried artifically raising the eggs with the green boy or is he eating them as soon as the girl is squeesed?
  5. hey ive got two altiums that are a year and a half old, just been waiting for them to put out some breeding tubes or lay eggs or something, (there was 7 of them but the others sadly died off due to alot of unexpected house moves) if the case was that there was 2 males would they still show their breeding tubes or would they keep it hidden?
  6. withthat auction is that minature bottles of jagermister infrount of it? whats that doing with a fishtank? trying to get the pacau drunk maybe?
  7. have read in another forum that someone used their own urine as the source of ammonia. diffrent....
  8. I allways thought that it was a bit of trouble doing that as you had to cut the pice of glass out of the tank to be able to do this. Ive even seen holes drilled into the base for the overflow with a pipe that goes straight up to the desired water level.
  9. the the fighter 3rd one down completly black? all of them look awsome, like usual
  10. did you have polystyrene under the tank? if not that will be the problem.
  11. you might need to show us a few shots of the whole fish room dave, if your willing to without giving away too many secrets
  12. is concrete a good idea in a tank? i allways thought that there was some sort of issue with it and that it needed to be sealed quite well

  20. is it nesserally bad having a stunted fish? will it just not grow to its max potential. i wouldnt perposly do it but it you rescue a stunted fish wouldnt it just stay at the same size and lead a normal life
  21. ha! about locking keys in a car i was selling my car, and after a buyer had taken it for a test drive he left the keys in the car and slamed the door shut, and the car decided to lock itself, we where both sitting there like "what?". funny thing is he brought the car the next day, after i got the neighbour to pop the lock for me
  22. have you allready gotten the filter? you should have a low flow filter otherwise the male will get stressed as it will be difficult for him to swim. allso what plants are yo wanting in there? you should make shure that they are compatable with how much light your tank will have.
  23. wow, theres heaps, shining the light from the side really shows them up well. just with the eggs on the bottom that are all white and fungus... should i try take the eggs on the bottom out or will it not foul the water, and if i should take the eggs out how do i do it? and when should i start doing water changes/adding water thanks heaps for all your help too caserole
  24. im shure that two females will lay eggs together. but a more experienced angel person can confirm
  25. ha, hoped a bit too much and now it seems theyre all white. not fertilised or got fungus? some look fluffy but it looks like maybe 1 or 2 might still be clear, but since you said that they should hatch today i will have to have a really close look and see if i see any wrigglers
