    Sump Tank

They allso heplp to hide unsightly things like internal filters and heaters to give a more natural look to your tank.
  3. polys easy to get. you just got to buy the bigger pices, you can cut up poly boxes and use them, theyre easy enough to get. i got a lot of poly boxes from my partners work, a hotel with a resturant. I find it a bit hard to believe that you made that texture useing a spoon. its looks so good.
  4. and that shes nice and cozy under the heatpump in the afternoons, with a nive view of the angels in the big tank next to her... dam shes got it good
  5. lol i guess you forgot about the powerhead too? ive never seen these before in my LFS, hmmm might have to check these guys out.
  6. i tried her today on some beef heart again and she ate it! she ate 2 cubes of it, ill give her some more tomorrow and see how she goes with that, i dont want to be giving her lots too fast.
  7. my mate did that with about half the bottle of rum, near the end of the night, lets just say "ben dosent love ben rite now..."
  8. i got mine quite a while ago, about 2 years and i didnt see the parents as i picked them up quite late after dark and his tanks work on sunlight. so im hopeing that the parents where the same. but i did get to visit him again and have a good look at his fish and setup and was quite impressed. good guy when i met him.
  9. does it fully cover the back of the tank and is the back pice glued to the side peice? very nice, cant wait to see some more pics as it goes along
  10. hopefully in hobsonville/whenuapai, but i havnt got a house sorted yet.
  11. Well the eye looks too big for them compared to the albinos and the altiums are about another year older. These are from phil collins and he said that theyre from wild perents...
  12. my albinos and altiums, I got the albinos from Errol in november. i know the altiums are a little stunted  my baby glowlights my school of glowlights, 5 of them are the shop brought perents
  13. those bins arnt exactly watertight are they? howd you seal them so they didnt spill with the splashes. and howd you keep them warm? with the cat did you stop with it needing to go toilet
  14. well ive been told im defanatly going to auckland and now gotta move all my stuff including 2 6month old kittens and the fish, was 6 2ft tanks and an aquaone 120. currently got them cut down to the 120 and 3 2ftsincluding the turtle tank. now ive got an idea about sending fish so im going to treat them like that. with the cats I was talking to someone down here and they suggested having the kittens knocked out for the trip, anyone else have this done for their cats? or moved a long distance with them concious?
  15. i would say drilling the tanks and running a pipe between the two if this was going to be long term. or you can get a siphon overflow box and if you but the two tanks up it might be able to go over the sides of both tanks if there isnt any bracing in the way. if that makes sence
  16. Avionics Tech in the airforce, nearly at the end of my last major trade training, more or less a sparky for planes, with a few extras thrown in.
  17. i think ure gonna be hard to beat mystic, 3050
  18. currently got 6 1 aquaone 120 display tank 5 2ft tanks, cutting down on tanks before i move, i have pleanty more in auckland, 4 weeks to go!
  19. i think ive seen more sheep in the north island than the south, mind you all the paddocks around here are filled with grapes...
  20. From what i can tell (and if anyone knows please correct me) is that there isnt any diffrence in the construction in the tube itself so i would think shouldnt matter. The choke and starter is a diffrent type of ballast from yours which im thinking would be an electronic ballast.
  21. i wouldnt think that if you cut it down it wouldnt do much except make the shorter tubes be brighter and last not as long. there is this article about modding a fluresent light to overdrive the tubes. http://www.aquariumlife.net/projects/di ... ing/47.asp
  22. i dont know, but its a good song. just saw the add again and whats the man doing to the girl at the start putting that thing next to her ear.
  23. i agree with you man, whats this got to do with chocolate?
  24. Her activity has slowed down a touch i wouldnt think enough to warrant this much of a loss in appetite, she still gets up on her rock to sunbathe when its sunny. Her normal meals where either some chopped bits of frozen fish or a whole prawn. and before that (about 8 months ago now) she was eating some freezedried turtle product. ive even brought her some turtle sticks to try that but she just lets them go to waste. i even leave the food in there for a few hours to make shure its not just a shyness issue. Im not too shure what to look for with an ill turtle except a soft shell and any of the normal cuts lumps and cloudy/closed eyes. maybe her tank has something to do with it as shes only in a 2 ft which is a bit small for her (140mm shell) with a pile of large rocks at one end for her to climb onto, just a fluro tube and the window for lighting. the temps about 26 and the lid is only covered with the larger pice of glass for a standard 2ft lid.
  25. well i think she ate a mussle from that seafood coctail but none of the othr stuff so i guess im having seafood salad sometime this week and ive only got some small ramshorn type of smail, not very big and dont think she would even be able to see it or care if it was dangling infrount of her (shes ignoring the 3 platys in her tank i tried to give her as feeders)
