  1. Well this is a fantastic journal, very much enjoying your journey
  2. Over the past few weeks I have been loosing a few guppies, water is perfect and is a very mature tank, so I am thinking I may not have enough air in the tank. I am looking to replace my old air pump anyway so how would I work out how much air a minute I am needing to pump through air stones?
  3. Yes this is exactly what I needed, so my songs were saved on to my mac. The reason we got the mac was because we have iphones/ipads we wanted to be able to sync them all etc, as long as it has word and safari I am happy. I have learnt about formatting - the hard way. Problem is with six years worth of photos I am kicking myself for it. I saved every-thing that was on the hard drive to the computer because it warned me that it might wipe every-thing. The hard drive would let me take stuff off but needed to be formatted with the mac so I could put stuff on it. However during the copy process my songs and most photos disappeared and then I wiped the hard drive. Have tried a few downloads to recover them but nothing has worked or even found what I am looking for.
  4. Currently running wondershare data recovery, mainly for the photos cause they are most important. Still have 36mins to wait. So far I haven't found what I am looking for. Yes I updated the new configured hard drive to discover photos and music missing.
  5. Ok, so recently I have purchased a MacBook Pro (previous had windows). I have a western digital hard drive that holds EVERY-THING and I have had to configure (I believe) the hard drive so I could use it on the Mac. In the process I lost all my photos (that's another problem) however I had about 10,000 songs on my hard drive and they have been wiped (back up some-how didn't work have downloaded some programme's to try remedy this) BUT all my songs are on itunes and play. However I can not locate the song files on my Mac. My question is, does some-one know how I can save the songs back onto the hard drive as I use a hard drive as a master copy of every-thing? Hope that makes sense.
  6. Thanks, would this cure fin rot too if it is fin rot?
  7. Like 30% a day? What about using Melafix?
  8. I purchased three very large clown loaches last night, I didn't have a extremely good look at them as it was late but they appeared lively and healthy. I put them in my tank last night (yes, I know that is a big no-no! :digH: ) and left them to it. This morning they were still hiding away so I used my torch to check they were ok, however I have noticed that one of them has a bit of his tail missing and it looks like little white fibres are hanging from his tail - I am suspecting fin rot, not that I have ever experienced this before. Or do you think it could possibly just be damaged i.e knocked on a some-thing sharp and is self-healing? I will get a picture up as soon as possible, but I would like some advice on how to treat fin rot with clown loaches. The other occupants of the tank are listed in my signature. Thanks
  9. Absolutely gorgeous! I would love to get my hands on these!
  10. If you have a look at my avatar I have nano tank that I am wanting to grow some plants in, however does anyone have any suggestions how I could light this tank, I was thinking possibly a desk lamp or a LED light but I am not sure if that would be sufficient. What have other people used for there nano tanks? There is a small space above the tank that you can access from the back of the tank, this is we're I am hoping to place a light.
  11. My next project is building a mesh wall for the back of my tank using java moss. However I can not locate mesh small enough. I have tried Mitre 10 and Bunnings as well as a few gardening shops in Wellington. Has any-one made a mesh wall before? Or could point me in the direction of some mesh (plastic or stainless) Thanks :bounce:
  12. I have two large silver dollars, they never chase other fish and I have bred bristle noses without them eating the fry, would it be possible/advisable to keep guppies with them? Obviously the tank would have sufficient hiding space for the guppies and plenty of plants for potential young and guppies are quite quick, has anyone successfully kept these two fish together before? Thanks
