  1. well im back in auckland! go home at 3am friday. pulled my fish out of the car and half of them where cold, 4 angels and my red tail shark looked dead. so i focused on those that where upright. tanks where set up, after boiling water on the stove to heat it as there was no hot water and no jug. so as my fish where floating tin their tanks to warm up i thought ild deal with the angels and shark. but when i picked them up the shark moved, so i double checked them all, and they where all still alive so in the tank they go. after about 20 mins of floating they where all back to being lively little fishes, with the exception of my smaller peru altium. who i scooped out sat avo along with 2 glowlights and a female fighter. which isnt bad considering
  2. you could open paint, create a txt box and type your name into it, then save it as the original. about the most basic way i can think of
  3. i got it when i was living in auckland before i moved down here, 4 days till im back up there
  4. will he also be breeding them or will he just be growing the carp up?
  5. but which left? as left while facing north is right when facing south, then the south facing left is the north facing right,
  6. i think it will be fine, i did the same think with mine but it was the other fish who gave him a bad time, you can allways just keep an eye on him and the girls for the first few days and if anything starts going wrong you can get him out again. what are the other fish in the community tank though first, and barbs or other fin nippers?
  7. then put the big male in the community tank and the little male in the one where the big one was. If nessary put in something that will break line of sight in the tank
  8. personally i think those aqua one ones are way too small, bearly enough room for a juvinile let alone an adult. good concept, poor execution
  9. i take it that the microworms are a starter culture? if it is you wont be able to get enough worms off it to feed the fry for long, i think the best thing to do would be to buy some brineshrimp eggs at the lfs and set up a DIY hatchery that wayyou will get some food for them sooner
  10. very nice setup and fish, just wondering what the shoebox sized black boxes on some of the tanks are
  11. i would try to scoop them in a cup or similar and transfer them across to the new tank with it full of water from the tank there in at the moment.
  12. adodge is a chick... dont worry we all make that mistake
  13. taking tank water isnt a necessity but is recommended, it would allso depend on what fish you have as to how much water you take with you. how many tanks are you moving?
  14. with the possibility of adding it to the article section on this website?

should be your LFS or you can try tough tanks, they should have it if you ask
  17. so a 600x300 tank will be fine in 3mm glass with a saftey factor of 2 aswell?
  18. the way that a fuse works is by getting hot and melting if theres toomuch current through it, if you stuck it across a battery it will most likely melt, depending on fuse rateing. but with removing the pannel i just broke a tank down useing a standard craft knife and just slowly worked my way around it, cutting out the fillets first then squesing the blade between the bits of glass, making the cuts even on both sides of the glass on the way down, if that makes sence.....
  19. dont know if anyone else noticed that under payment instructions next to 'cash' and 'bank deposit' is allso 'your soul'

  22. what sort of fish are you planning for this tank? i dont think that waterflow would be too important aslong as the water is sufficently filtered.
  23. about 12 hours including a ferry ride, and space wise is limited.
  24. my partner rung up the SOCA today and they said that the easiest thing for both us and the cats is to get them knocked out, and to talk to the vet about it ive got to book an appointment.
