    Drift Wood

yes you can go and get your own driftwood. for treating some people boil it or pour boiling water over it, i just rince it and give it a quick scrub to remove any dirt and mud. but it can be hard to find that perfect bit of driftwood

  5. well heres the past and present pets... little girl- tabby cat, was left to us to look after for a few months, the owners never came back Crunchie- ginger male cat Bounty- black tortice type girl mars- cat moro-cat spratt- got from spca blenheim, tabby girl who the other day atchally brought a spratt home, have no idea where it came from, i thought it would be a bit far for it to go down to the water here but it could of allso been stolen from someones bait bucket. she loves water diddymo- spratts sister, loves water and kids, recently made freinds with a house about 6 houses down the street and ive only named 1 fish, a shortfined fishter 'fafa' i think you can guess why
  6. and dont blame yourself, we all make mistakes when learning
  7. if they survive you could buy some liquid fry food, and no, the adults wont lay new eggs for the fry to eat. when transfering the babys you need to use a icecream container and keep them in water rather than useing a net, it will help to reduce stress and the new tank needs to be filled with water from the original tank
  8. ive had a rather fat full grown female fighter decide to go up the intake tube and was happily waiting in the canister filter for me

    Dragons

so, what exactly defines a fighter as a dragon? apart from the flying firebreathing kind
  12. this tank is empty at the moment, yea i noticed that a gap was made in the break, left about a 5mm gap, i didnt like that at all as it ment the glass was flexing
  13. do you have a pic of any large breeding traps? the only ones ive been able to find are all small
  14. or if you know about you electrickery, you could put them in series and they might run
  15. Cinder blocks!!!!!! im probally their biggest fan. I just covered it with a bed sheet to hide its uglyness. but they can be heavy, great if you have concrete floors.
  16. personally i would put the single discus across to the big tank, unshure of what to do with the filters though, prob put the canister across to the big tank and leave the pair with the internal not running anymore with a air operated box filter. but im not a discus person yet so prob best to confirm with one of them
  17. how long has the big tank been running for?
  18. the one on the bottom left looks alot like one ive got
  19. lol half my tanks are on the ground without substraite. im about to build a stand to hold 20ish 160l tanks for the start of my fish room
  20. that dosent sound too bad, now to find somewhere thats got a scrap of stainless sheet laying around
  21. cheers guys, looks like ill need to get this tank off the floor somehow, next problem, ill need to build a stand now for 160l tanks, peferably 3 high, can i use 75x50 or should i stick with 100x50 to build it, and any advise?
  22. its the same stuff just takes 5 mins
  23. i did, it broke after a while
  24. thats the break, that plastic thing sounds alot like a glue gun. theres some plastic type epoxy glue thats used for holding teflon to aluminum (think feeder horn cover) that i could use. i dont really want there to be a bump on the top surface3 otherwise it might interfere with sliding the light to feed the fish.
