    seems like a lot of trouble to go through! tap water with prime also does the trick just as well, and with a fraction of the trouble.

    put macro on. its the lille flower icon thing.keep the tank lights on but the background (being behind you) lights off. then try a pic with the flash on and then off. the fish is beautiful though. i know of a few on here that are hunting for black angels.

    and you can have your own breeding thing going on so you have a never ending supply - they are v. easy to breed and rear.

    could it be the daltons that is causing a problem? i dunno - ive never used or been able to find that stuff so am not sure if it can contribute to this excessive algae. starting may not help, but then again - it just may do the trick. have you tried stuff like phos zorb / nitra or bio chem zorb?

    yeah, the chromides will mock fight with each other, but no damage will occur. they are very easy to keep, just add some salt in the water and they will go bright orange. Once they establish in the tank, they will not take well to new chromides. least thats how mine were.

    I hope you took your pick of those beautiful pingu guppies we got in. the colours and tails were beautiful - even i considered getting some but then i remembered that I have a no livebearer policy in my tanks. lol

    Everything is going well now - fish are happy minus the angel fish who is lonely, but she hates other angels. rams are breeding, as are the steel blue apistos - catfish are being well fed lol Thanks for asking caper!

    they are both good tanks, but with discus in the tank, I'd advise getting a decent external filter. Brand doesn't matter, as long as you can get one that is known to be reliable and does its job as it should. if you get the water right, then the fish shall be good. :bounce:
