  1. lol... awesome! and what a score aye :bounce: Odin is a nice name.
  2. is there enough oxygen in the tank? what is the water flow like, and what sort of filtration do you have in the tank?
  3. itsvery easy. if you like, i can even send you an invite to gmail - but its just as easy to sign up yourself :bounce:
  4. Nvidia. why not phenom? blue m&m's or other colour m&m's?
  5. gaming amd phenomx4 OR intel quad?
  6. just use peat. add peat water to the tank until the desired pH is reached. all ways are chemical ways, you know that, chem 101 and all.... or were you too distracted watching me blow stuff up and make nitroglycerine?
  7. I'm sure i mentioned these filters on here a long time ago... the software on the computer enables you to know when to do waterchanges etc... that and you can reduce the flow at night or when ever you like...i think the newer updates have provision for a self diagnostic thingy if anything goes wrong. that and you can monitor flow and stuff and use it like a wavemaker if you need to. the aftermarket extras are awesome too.
  8. I think they have to order ingredients in order of the highest quantity of substance found in a typical batch. so if chicken is the most common ingredient that goes first, then corn.... and so on... however - the law has limitations. so some companies weigh the ingredients and then list them which is fine.... but then you have the odd sneak who weighs the wet mass of the chicken and not its equivalent dry mass... this is a huge issue if you are buying a dry food. cause then chicken or beef or whatever meat it is; may not be the primary ingredient any more, cause its all been dehydrated - and so it really should be 5th on the list and not first. sneaky sneaky huh? its a bit like McDonalds and the whole Prime beef mince saga - where Prime was the name of the company and not the type of mince used
  9. sorry didnt mean apistos.. if i had them id breed them my self  i only got the fake borelliis yonks ago that i didnt know were fakes ha ha. then when they appeared in the shops i was all excited and then someone on here pointed out that they were steel blues and popped my bubble  i was hunting for plecos and stuff but exporting restrictions and what have you...
  10. Thats a bummer they look cute. sorta like this guy: only not. do you have any more pics of the stoat?
  11. if I ask for $1200 for that setup including that fish - on a purely financial basis... it had better be worth it, lol. if you ask for top dollar, you had better deliver top dollar worth. that is not worth good money. wonder what its spine will look like ... Not a good look i must say
  12. all these questions /I haven't found any interesting apistos.....yet... I dont know some one who imports.. apart from the wholesalers.. but i do know people who are talented at spotting imported fish for what they really are :bounce: good eg is how the shovelnoses make their way in as pictus's. but ofcourse i know nothing about them I had 3 really nice africans i sent away - no idea what they are ..some sort of peacock i think.. all sent away with the hope to breed.
  13. most that make the shipments seem to die off cause of varying reasons (either too thin, or too weak....). the few that make it into the country get snapped up by collectors and / or hoarders. that leaves none to go around.when i get these fish i send them to a friend in auckland who tries to breed them. he too sends fish here and there for other people to breed. I'm hoping it makes a difference, but for the past 3 odd years - No real luck
  14. thats about as accurate as saying the males are more masculine than the females. what is the point of having males and females any how? unless you can replicate a nice flowing river, in several segments they wont breed. HTH :bounce: they dont breed in aquariums, but there are commercial setups in which they will breed. 20,000L cement tanks with natural river emulating systems for eg.
  15. it is most certainly significantly stunted. that tank is a growout tank for a juvi aro.... i wonder what they would have to say on MFK, lol. did you want to buy it?
  16. might not be an apisto, or even S. American but: PS- not for sale. it takes a while to acquire these.
  17. if its just the ceramic thing then its only like 15 bucks. but if its the whole thing - hten i think its in the $50 range i think. not sure though. the prices do occasionally get muddled up in my head. there are a lot of numbers swimming around in there at any point in time.
  18. 2215 impellors should be readily available. your eyes will pop out at the price of them though so be warned  the ceramic things are usually available separately as well. is the wee lille rubber thing still on there?
  19. ph 6 onwards to just above 7.6 is ok for discus. they can tolerate a wider range than that though. look at matching the pH in your tank. to lower the ph you can use driftwood, peat, extra floating leaves etc.
  20. It'll still have a macro button though. lille tulip like thing. most normal digi's do.
