  1. It's beautiful... especially with little Timothy swimming around.

    I.D. ?

I can see the resemblance... could Synodontis schoutedeni X euptera? I don't really know haha I'm guessing. :sml2:

    I.D. ?

Wow.. look you haven't stuffed it! :digH: Could be a Syno euptera (or euptera X) in its intermediate phase of colouring.
  4. I cannot be of much help but these are some very young ones I had a quite a while ago. And under stress - Plecos do tend to change patters and colours as they mature, so I would be inclined to put it down to variation.
  5. Maybe you only have females? It's not overly common if you have bought a group, but might explain what happened?
  6. Actually.... Dario - dario! or Scarlet badis as they will be called here.

    Corydoras

    Nice healthy cory!
  8. Probably happening because plastic plants won't be helping to absorb those extra nutrients given the light levels. Put some duckweed in there.
  9. Ah... see the cardamine is right at the back of the tank and is about 5cm at most from the rear wall of the tank. The only thing behind it is the hollow drift wood that the group of L66 chill out in and that has the second blob of windelov on it. At least that means it's the pictures fault  Taking picture of this tank is a tad difficult as there is a fridge and a Freezer right where you would need to stand to get further back!
  10. Thank you to all that attended and participated in this months meeting. We now have made the progress towards a definitive plan of action. Look forward to seeing you all at next months meeting. Details will be posted closer to the time.
  11. I'm not sure... I think it might be wendtii brown; it's one Zev sent me years ago. It is much taller than any of the other things though. Maybe it has to do with its age. I do wish the tank was deeper, however seeing as I have no magic wand (HP geek alert :smln: ) I've made do with what there is. It does have a certain lack of depth in pictures - to me it is because of the relative straightness of the path. What are your thoughts? Happy to get constructive criticism if someone is willing to substantiate what they say so I can make the required changes and revert back if needed. Tank looks much deeper IRL but I'm sure the pics are my own fault. Thanks Adrienne! I love your tank too!
  12. For a drop checker, its probably easier and costs about the same to get it off trademe.
  13. Jeez.. What did that cost?
  14. It's beautiful! I really like how you have grown the java fern.
  15. I used to have a few in my tank. I got rid of them not because they ate the smaller fish but because of the way they pushed everything aside and gobbled down the food. Poor cories and whiptails didn't stand a chance. It would not be atypical of them eating smaller fish though.
  16. If you have something to bring along and sell; bring it along and if people want it they will buy it.
  17. 23 April, 2011 - 25 June, 2011 - Only plants that have been added are narrow leaf java fern just to the right of the pathway and the hydrocotyle. I am thrilled at the progress the windelov has made in such a short amount of time!
  18. Thanks. I will see if I can write up something about the phases of planting a tank for you guys and send it to you.
  19. Seeing as you are in the mood to light fires once again Scott; this plant is not being 'sold, propagated and / or distributed'. But you and I have had this conversation in person; yet you saw the need to bring it up on a public forum. Both DOC and MAF have repeatedly emphasised their intention with this plant is to stop the spread and not to prosecute people that did purchase this plant or acquire this plant after the years and years that it was being sold in stores all over the country. ________ Ant - I'll be happy to plant any tank you have!
  20. Yep, it's safe and you get it from any fish shop.
