  1. A 404 on a 4 foot would only be gentle current. Except for a tiny section directly in front of the outlet.
  2. Yup, just like any other plant. Algae is one of the major components in many waste water treatment plants and is used in algal turf scrubbers in tanks.
  3. Why wouldn't you eat rabbits? Just about everything else on the planet does. They're like nature's bouncy cheeseburgers.
  4. Algae is actually good, it cleans the tank.

BTW, I don't think it's a problem inherent with the CF1200. I think it's more to do with the filterwool pads they give you. They give the water a lot of room to flow past them around the edges of the filter wool. If you take your own and stuff it in tightly so the water can't sneak around the edges then I think you'll be fine. The medium and coarse sponges are a lot stiffer so I don't think they'd have this issue.

Only thing I've noticed is it does seem to have a little trouble with filtering to a really fine level. Which, I think is really the same thing you'll get with even good ones. One of my tanks has been a bit cloudy for the last month or two. I put some filter wool over the intake(After a couple glass angels got stuck to it) and suddenly it's nice and clear.
  7. I dunno, I don't think I've met anyone that's 18 that I'd describe as reliable.
  8. Just rinse off any garbage and throw it in your tank.
  9. Well, you're really screwed now...
  10. We need a bit of information before we can say. Now, is he a small image of a larger creature and are we referring to that creature? What size is that creature? Or are we talking about the actual image? What size screen?

Small section of wire, jam it into the appropriate 2 points in the motherboard plug. If you google it you shouldn't have a hard time finding a diagram telling which two or I could check the one I have at home. Actually, mine at home I've got a 1" piece of solder stuck into them, it's not really critical, it doesn't carry any current it's just a switch to tell the PSU to wake up.

The mains fans also seem to cost more. If you get an old PC power supply off trademe or somewhere you should have enough 12v power there to run a few hundred fans.
  13. I wish we had Taco Bells. I miss taco bells.
  14. Hahaha, all those species together in a little 300L tank...Hope you like dead fish. That's...Ahhh...16 fish that will either outgrow the tank or be a bit cramped.
  15. The Burger king pepperoni whopper or whatever it is is pretty good. But...Subway, definitely. Chicken fillet or meatball with gerkins, jalapenos and southwest sauce. Yum.
  16. Unless you're serious about it, T5s will be fine for a plants. I don't think MHs are that expensive. You can frequently find MH units on trademe secondhand for like $150-200ish for a 250W DE. I only managed to get $300 for my dual 250W DE pendant. I don't believe heat is much more than you'd get from a similar wattage of T5s, it's just that the heat from like 500 watts of T5s is going to be produced over like an 8 square foot patch compared to more like 8 square inches for a MH.
  17. Also more relevant than cars, they're used heavily in planted tanks and reef tanks because they put out far more light than fluoros.
  18. Whatever the stuff that comes out is exactly, it tastes horrible.

    Whoops

That's because most fish aren't much smarter than plants.

    Whoops

Pacus and giant gourami have nothing on the couple 100mmish long Arapima gigas I saw in a shop in the US. Forget tank busters, those things grow up to be house busters.
  23. They tend to flow something like 5 liters per hour when nice and clean and then clog daily. Exagerating a bit, but not much.
  24. It is, to be precise, whatever the person calling it wants to call it.
  25. It's not how many years are in your life, but how much life is in your years... I have a heater, ebo-jager, that I just took out of one of my tanks last week. The heat light comes on like you'd expect, but no heat. Measured both on a watt meter and by pulling it out and holding the glass. Didn't even get warm.
