Yes, it's winter for the entire southern hemisphere. The seasons are reversed.
It's funny that a lot of people don't know the seasons in the southern hemisphere are opposite of the northern. I used to answer phones for Tourism New Zealand. One July I got a call from a woman that went something like
"Hi, I'm visiting NZ in a week, what's the weather like there?"
"Well, here in Wellington at the moment it's about 40°F, it's been in the low 50°s during the day. Further north will be warmer, south island will be colder."
"That's COLD!"
"That's about normal for mid winter."
"It's winter?!?"
"Yes."
".....Oh *#@*!"
