    Jumping Neon

His girlfriend probably dumped him, he was getting bad grades in his neon school, his parents don't understand him...So he jumped.
  2. Heh, I hadn't realized before...Borneo suckers look just like a bristlenose that someone accidentally put on something hot and it melted a bit...
  3. Only "Will eat halibut?" Halibut's the best fish!
  4. Yup, just like the auction says, geophagus surinamensis. Of course, they're not vegetarians despite what the auction says. They're omnivorous...If anything more on the carnivorous side. They don't really eat plants and I don't think mine ever really ate lettuce when I put it in the tank.
  5. Heh, no, she's fixed, though an Alaskan Mastiffmute would be...Interesting. She's locked up because she's an escape artist and our backyard doesn't have 8 foot fencing with barbed wire around it.
  6. Full shed in spring? I have no idea what you're talking about, she does it all year! Heh, Seriously though, she doesn't have a huge shed in the spring like some. Our last one didn't either.

    Grater boy

Soylent pepperoni pizza with extra cheese and bbq sauce, please.
  8. That was just one tank of them. I'm convinced that almost all the adult pearl gouramis in the country now are from(or descended from) my single breeding of them...

    Away from China I hope.
  10. Once a...Uhh...Yeah! Week! Or...Ummm...Maybe less...Depending...Hehehe. I aim for once a week anyway. I usually do approximately 50% water changes. Sometimes more if I get distracted. Once or twice it's been WAY more. In case you're wondering, 200 pearl gouramis actually don't seem to mind so much when you completely drain their tank...

No legs. There are however 10,990 flippers because they're ALL thalidomide babies.
  12. 1. There is practically no bacteria in the water. 2. The only way it might stress the bacteria on surfaces is if water conditions change dramatically. 3. If you doing 80% regularly the tank water will not be significantly different than your new water. It's only if you go and do tiny changes for months which allows your tank water to get all dirty and nasty and then a big change with nice clean water.
  13. Yup that would work. I don't think I'd bother with a blue light though, just go with the 6400K lights first. Then if you aren't happy you could maybe try the actinic.
  14. I just use this thing called the "Hot water" tap you turn that up a little bit and the water coming out gets hotter. Actually, I turn the hot on all the way and then adjust the cold. The cold tap makes a whistling noise so I can get it about right then I just keep an eye on the tank thermometer and adjust every 5 minutes or so to keep the temp roughly stable.
  15. How about some Killies? Not so easy to find though.
  16. I have one female purebred Alaskan Malamute female whose services I'd like to sell. In this particular instance services will be, specifically bags(standard sandwich size) of fluff. $2 each+shipping. Scatter on your carpet, clothes and furniture and it will be just like you have one of your own! (Sorry, all the threads about dog breeding, I had to do it...)
  17. Interesting, I was going to say they're probably just a harmless little detritovore, frequently called spaghetti worms and are extremely common. But I realised this was the freshwater forum, not saltwater.
  18. Hmmm, I hear they're schooling, so should probably go with the standard half dozen.
  19. Do you think they'd go in my 4 footer ok?
  20. Wait until you have an actual big tank, not a little 260L one. My 440 (Which I'd consider to be on the very bottom of the scale of large, maybe even top of medium size) takes about 45 minutes and that's just draining and refilling it from the tap.

    Jewel cichlid

They were nice and calm in my community tank. But all the fish in my community tank outweighed them 10 to 1. You didn't mention how big your tank is, must be a good size to have that many fish in it. If it's a 300L+ I'd say go for it.
  22. No, that's like trying to run a metal halide by plugging it into your car headlight slot. Not going to work.
  23. Neither is plumbing, painting, hammering nails or using a screwdriver.
