  3. I put a male albino with a female GBA, the fry are now 5 days old and all appear to be brown :-?
  4. My goal as a teenager was to become a Marine Biologist. I had the brains but was just too lazy back then. I could have been fishing, diving , keeping fish and researching fish. Just like I do now but being paid for it
  5. I purchased spare UV bulbs when I purchased the filters. They are much cheaper than most replacement bulbs. I don't use the spray bars as they do restrict to flow too much.

  11. Nice fish It looks like you got a pair of longfins My oldest male has been put with a GBA and the first fry hatched today :bounce: The spotted ones have been loosely ID'ed as `Rio Ucayali` http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/sp ... ies_id=638 both males and females have bristles to some degree so I wouldn't be in a hurry to definitely sex them.
  12. That's it I can see the broom sticks and the buckets of water marching towards my fishroom as we speak

  18. It's Spectracanthicus sp. (L254) :bounce: :bounce:
  19. I got them on trademe. They look similar to young dragon bloods. Not having seen young lithobates before, I just assumed that was what they looked like. Ah well lesson learn't
  20. We all have our species that we tend to specialise in. I thought that I had got myself a nice group of lithobates until Ryan turned up and burst my bubble. It turns out that the only similarity they have with lithobates is that they both originated from Africa
