The Red whip are looking nice, there are 2-3 nice plump females amongst them, It will be a few months yet before I get around to attempting to breed them.

I purchased spare UV bulbs when I purchased the filters. They are much cheaper than most replacement bulbs.
I don't use the spray bars as they do restrict to flow too much.
It looks like a great book. I would be tempted to purchase it but I am waiting for stella to release her book.

My oldest male has been put with a GBA and the first fry hatched today :bounce:
The spotted ones have been loosely ID'ed as `Rio Ucayali` http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/sp ... ies_id=638 both males and females have bristles to some degree so I wouldn't be in a hurry to definitely sex them.
I got them on trademe.
They look similar to young dragon bloods.
Not having seen young lithobates before, I just assumed that was what they looked like. :oops:

I thought that I had got myself a nice group of lithobates until Ryan turned up and burst my bubble. It turns out that the only similarity they have with lithobates is that they both originated from Africa :oops:
