  4. I am assuming that's it's a fluoro tube ? If so, you probably only need to replace the starter which will cost you the huge sum of about $3 at your local hardware store. This is what they look like http://www.newark.com/ge/155-800/starte ... p/08WX5936
  5. Maybe I would use someone to do that stuff occasionally to give the wife a day off

  8. No. Macrocarpa is neither a native or a hardwood. Its an imported softwood. Look for rimu, beech etc
  9. Any native hardwood should be fine as long as its not treated

  14. Most of the eggs fungused just prior to wiggler stage. I do have 6-8 wigglers so at least I know they are a fertile pair. I will try some different methods of hatching the eggs in the future and hopefully get a better survival rate
  15. My only concern with using iodised salt is not the iodine but the added anti cakeing agent
  16. Looks good. I have just harvested your dwarf sag and will post it off tomorrow
  17. Day 2 The eggs are a nice light brown and only one or two have fungus-ed so far
  18. Warning: If you are one of those purists that hate hybridization then read no further  My Amphilophus labiatus male and my Red Parrot female have spawned today in my 8 footer. I am not sure if the eggs will be fertile but I have removed them and plan to attempt to grow on any surviving fry just out of interest. A pic of dad when he was younger And mum when she was young
  19. I have only had my pondmaster 8000 LPH running for about a year but no complaints so far.

  21. Brilliant I want your fish, your camera and your photography skills. What is pic #3 ?
  22. I was surprised to see this spawn as both the male and the female are still both very young. It would have to be the youngest BN's that I have ever had spawn, I'm not complaining tho The LF temmenaki have settled in well in pairs and trio's and I hope to get some action out of them in a few months. Save some young panamense for me, We can do a swap
