I had a similar problem with 1 of my 950L tanks. I was doing 50% weekly water changes but the PH always dropped to 4.3 in 7 days. I thought it was the drift wood also untill I removed the inhabitants (2 Oscars 8 Bala and an Arrowana) the problem disappeared,I put it down to big poopers.

The fish you have prefer PH 7.3 down to about 6.6. yours is 8 which is as pointed out good for africans. Your GH is 120. Hard water is between 18-30.

Abdominal dropsy (bacterial) usually associated with poor water quality. If you google it there is lots of info.

" popeye " is a sign of abdominal dropsy which is a bacterial problem quite often associated with poor water quality.

The only time I have seen guppie's jump is when cornered with a net and I was surprised to see how good they were.

Prazi dosage is 2mg per ltr. My prazi cost $ 1.50 per tablet,my metro $1.30 per tablet and $13.50 for 100ml of liquid metro.

The reason I would not have SAE with discus. They are very active and can stress other fish, they prefer a higher ph (7.2)and a lower temp 25c.

Goldfish are a member of the carp family. I was under the impression that they had been banned for a long long time.

I have 13 gold nuggets 6 cardinals and 8 adult discus in a 550L tank, I have very little aggression and no fatalities, I suspect the death is due to something else.

Discolouration of gills is usually a sign of poisoning. A sign of gill flukes is rapid movement " flicking" of gills. Droncit is a good medicine for flukes and is gentle on the fish.

I think you need the floating leaves in order for it to flower.
