I used a portable heat pump(suki) when I lived in Invercargill worked a treat but as previously said you will need lots of insulation.

I do 20% weekly but it also depends how many and what type/size fish you keep. -
I think you will find it has been withdrawn from the shelf. You might be lucky if someone has some left over.

I have had probs with cf1200 cannisters before. They sometimes draw air from the shut off valves and leak try removing them and putting the hoses directly onto the filter.

If you have plenty of light your Indian fern will grow like a weed.

I also like the CF1200 pricewise, however the CF1000 is cheaper and slightly smaller and would still do a good job on a tank that size
