  1. after watching Finding Nemo with our kids my wife & i decided that it would be a great thing for the kids to have a snall tank. we bought an 30L complete setup off trademe. that was 2 1/2 years ago & it has developed into a mild obsession for me.
  2. most rockwork is available from landscaping supply companies, if you don't want to pay commercial rates then search for quarries in your area.
  3. he may have also fed it something to enhance colour, personally i dont really care. its a beautiful colour.
  4. i used flourish excell to get rid of my BBA, did not double dose & it only took 3 days for the algae to turn white.

    it is similar but has some colouration on the end of the dorsal & around the anal fin which my males do not have at all, females a little but they are much less coloured. the first pic may be something along the stuartgranti lines.

  9. i have two aqua ones & they have been great.
  10. i always put holding females in a smaller "un-decorated" tank as its easy to catch them. I strip at around 17 days after spawning, the fry are free swimming then. if i did not know when they spawned i would simply open her mouth with a tooth pick (point broken off) & have a look. if they still ahve yoke sacks try again in a few days.   13. put a little water in the bottom of a pot & steem them open. be careful, easily over cooked into chewing gum!

  18. i believe that variety is good for them. i have africans that i feed & few different flakes, sinking sticks, frozen blood worms & sushi wrap. they get a flake everyday plus sticks or sushi wrap & blood worms on the weekend. sometimes i gently crush the sticks for a diiferent size, it has worked for me.
  19. i would think that maybe a result of a lack of tumbling in the mothers mouth, anyone else got any ideas why they tumble them like they do?

  21. i have a clown with an internal parasite. it is called Spironucleus parasite. The treatment is metronidazole which is in Bayer -Clont vet prescribed tablets. You need a tablet, i am going to crush it up, add a little water, thaw out some blood worms, put separated bloodworms in with watery tablet & freeze again. then feed to clown loach as a bloodworm cube. should work. in the mean time, separate them & feed them up on blood worms etc.

  23. hi have just seen, for my first time, a holding female feed. Is this a common thing?
