    sunsun tanks

& if your guna get one off joshua on trademe get the stand as well. they are really good for the $ you pay & make it a complete unit. the stands have holes for canister piping when you get them & the hood has rebates at either end for piping etc to.

    sunsun tanks

filter has not faulted at all, i do run a canister as well in my tank. I did have one of the lighting tubes flickering recently but my sparkie mate sorted that & said that it was a common fault with fluros. I haven't had a tube fail yet either. The hood, being aluminium is my cats new sleeping place now that the weather is getting cooler & there is no way it would ever sag or anything like that.
  3. it ultimately depends on the covering of MDF or customwood. Whether it is melamine with calshed edges or a painted stand (most painted stands are MDF) they are as good as the finish. The kitchen cabinetry & most benchtops houses are made from MDF with a finish over it whether it be melamine, painted or formica.

    sunsun tanks

i like it more the longer i have it, a friends aqua one is starting to show the down sides of the plastic hood & mine is as good as it was when i got it over 2 years ago
  5. the problem was one of the main grandstands (8 storey scaffold stand) had corperate boxes (tents) at the bottom which blocked the view for the grandstand behind/above. They could only see the rooves of the cars as the went passed because turn one was a rh bend so the cars lined up for the corner hard left if you know what i mean. The western stand had no problems at all.
  6. that sounds like a much better option! Not sure if richard went.
  7. it was my cat that got me onto that  he was sleeping next to the tank & moved the curtain one day & all the algae grew. I noticed that they were feeding off it so i left them to it. Now when the algae reduces i just pull the curtain back for the day to create more.
  8. Who went to the hamilton 400? I did for the three days & it was a blast! First day was corperate box & thats was an experience, more booze than you can drink etc. Second day i was in a stand on Founders corner, that was the best spot of the weekend for wtaching the racing & third day general admition which was pretty average.
  9. i put my african fry tank next to the window with a curtain so i can control how much light hits the tank. i leave algae to grow & the fish feed off it. i have about 30 fry in there & i have never seen such well fed fish. I feed them flake etc every few days but they mostly feed on the algae.
  10. I have met you george, don't believe a word of this  any timber type cabinet bigger than the tank will hold that, in fact i have a surplus to requirements microwave cabinet that could be used as a stand. I have matriaclima estherae (red zeb) & labido caruleus (electric yellows), about 8 yellows & rest zebs. As for the meeting, i wont be coming as i just got back from 4 days at the v8s & need to get to know my family again
  11. small africans? how bout my 15-20mm fry. I have about 40 to get rid of. By the time they grow big enough for the next tank size up you might have enough pocket $ for a bigger tank.
  12. nice progress. how do you access the lower tank to get larger items like rockwork etc in or out?
  13. this is the best in my eyes http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/s ... hp?id=1507
  14. i feed my africans frozen bloodworms & have done so for as long as i have had them, bloat has never been a problem for me.
  15. must have forgotten the link http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/c ... .php?cat=9 my point was that there are 6 & 7 stripe frontosa
  16. i have one of these & a cf1200 & have found them to be very good. i got mine from www.petplanet.co.nz .they are very well priced from there & delivery out of the area is no problem.
  17. here's a link to a profile of the "7 stripe frontosa"
  18. nah, they were $1200 a few months back due to the 400D release but don't think they are avialable now.
