i have two fluros on my 1000mm tank & they work fine. they are the plant growth tubes but weren't overly sucessful when it was a planted tank.

as you are not having plants it does not matter what lighting you use. you just need as much lighting as it takes to see them.

go to a glass merchant, if they have an oven they will be able to sort it.

i used an existing filter to "seed" my new tank & the water when doing a water change on the existing tank & it worked perfectly, third day stocking started.

our water in onerahi is the same, ph 7.6+ which is great for my africans!

there are frozen, may want a chilly bin. has the pet shop up there closed? I treid to find it last week & it had gone from where it was.

i separated him so he didn't have to fight for the food. I get my food from the cameron st pet store.

there are many ways of lowering it but i wouldn't be to worried about it. in this case i would add driftwood & i think it would lower it to around 7.2 or so. the fish will be fine in that, my community with angels, tetras was at 7.4 & they did very well for the year or so i had them.

it should stick once it is submersed in the water.

it is best to do it with driftwood or similar, not a good idea to use PH down products.

i has this & mine survived. I put him in his own 18" tank & fed him heaps of bloodworms. Had him in there for about a month & he is back in the main tank now thriving.

interesting, as i said i saw mine crush a snail at the same time as the "click".

do they crush them with spines?? i have seen them pick up a snail, "crack" then parts of the snail came back out broken up.
