  1. in a previous job i worked for a granite & marble company. alot of our product was imported from china. we would order tiles, kitchen & vanity benchtops & even all the parts for the britomart railway station & paedestrian crossing parts for the refurbishment of the streets around the railway station in Auckland. Once you find a good supplier of what ever you are after you were set. I found that the quality was effected by the value you wanted to pay. ie: If you wanted a teaspoon it would cost $1. If you wanted a teaspoon for 5c you could, you would just get 5c worth of quality. I have a sunsun tank, i have had it for around two years & cannot fault it at all. It is better IMO tha the aquaone AR980 that it is similar to & I would recommend them. Just make sure you are happy with the one you buy beforeyou hand over the $ as there are less quality tems out there.
  2. ????? 200L, it has not died yet. I have had the fish for two years.
  3. Hi all, i have a Clown Loach with internal parasites. What is best to use to get rid of them? He is very skinny & needs some urgent attention.
  4. i think it is the spirulina that causes it so it may get worse & not get any better if you continue to feed that.
  5. what i did was, get an 10L bucket. fill it with tank water & add 4 table spoons of epsom salts. add big bellied angels for 15 minutes. then remove & return to tank also, does the big bellied fish seem to have pop eye?
  6. i think it depends on how much support the frame has for the ply. if it has cross supports very close to each other then only a thin ply is required due to the steel providing support. If there is large gaps between supports then the ply becomes the support & a thick enough ply to support the weight is required. i not sure how to calculate the weight between the supports but it would be alot i would think.
  7. here is a link to cichlid-forum tv showing a few tips for feeding your fry. maybe usefull for some. http://www.cichlid-forum.com/videos/feeding_fry.php
  8. more & more northlanders here, good to see!
  9. it didn't harm the fish so give it a go, it may help.
  10. my sunsun is good quality, better than aqua one IMO & its power plug is nz type.
  11. no idea but when i had angels they did that to. i even put the bloated one in a bucket of epsom salted water thinking it was constipated. it stayed bloated for a while then it went down, still a mystery really.
  12. where have you been lately vegemite? havn't seen you on here for ages
  13. i have the same as the first link posted, Sunsun. I also have a Cf1200 & cannot fault either of these units in 2 years. I have always preferred the sunsun over aqua one as the hoods parts are aluminium, not plastic. i can highly reccomend the sunsun & would soecifically look for them again if i buy another setup.
  14. i dont, no matter how much i throw in no food hits the deck. my clowns are at the top fighting for it.
  15. the africans also eat the algae, mine often munch away at it.
  16. i have clown loaches to collect any excess food. the africans spit enough of the aragonite around to keep the bottom clean & i use a magnet cleaner when i need to clean the glass.
  17. isn't it a toyota previa? or honda odessey?

  20. when i was a newbie to fish keeping i got all the books out from the library i could find. they were all just the authour's opinions & every book contradicted the others partly or totally. in my frustration i googled for some info & up came a link to this site. best day of my fish keeping experience. opinions change, hardware improves & things change overall. the books were all at least 5 years old & almost everything had changed. current experiences are the best information & on this & other sites we can all share the new info.
