  1. Welcome! Hope you're not holding your breath. I've been waiting for probably a good 3 months (and still waiting) for them to get me some Zebra Loaches.. First time I bought the 2 loaches I had/have I asked if they could ring me when they got more in.. 2+ years later I'm still waiting for that call... I miss WetPets.
  2. The Twilight book was waaaaaaaay more enjoyable than the movie. I hear Knowing is supposed to be quite good...
  3. So they are available!?!? Why can my LFS not get any then?? I've been waiting for ages for them to get some in, they keep saying oh its the wrong season or excuses like that.
  4. Thats what I was wondering.. mine don't seem to be eating my plants..
  5. Clown loaches would be awesome but do need large tanks. Yo Yo's might be a better option, max size is about 15cm. Zebra Loaches only get to about 10 cm. Dwarf chain even smaller - about 6cm. I've only ever had Zebra Loaches, and only managed to get 2 of them. Despite recommendations they are happier in groups of 5+ as they are a shoaling fish, seemed to do fine as a twosome. One died a few months back and the one left still seems happy enough, he's started hanging out with the tiger barbs. I don't know how readily available they are as I've only seen them twice at my LFS and one of those times was when I bought them. They were around the $12 mark from memory.
  6. Loaches are the only snail eater that I know of. I got 2 Zebra Loaches to clean up my snail infestation and they did a real good job.
  7. I didn't say anything about black kuhlis?? I assumed that you had the banded ones, which I assume are the most common ones available as I've never seen black kuhlis in my LFS. Anyway it sounds like you've gone against peoples advice and done what you wanted to anyway.. why bother asking people for their advice and recommendations if you aren't going to follow it?
  8. Some say put them in the freezer, others use clove oil, some cut their heads off or put something sharp through their head or hit them with something hard. I've only recently started being able to euthanise fish myself (used to have hubby deal with it, cos I couldn't face it). I just catch them in the net, then hit the net real hard on the ground or against a wall. Seems to work. Not a nice thing to do though but its quick. Sorry for your loss. It may ony be a low dollar value fish but clearly it still means more to you than that so good on you for trying to help your fish. I agree at this stage you may have done all you can do to try to cure him.
  9. Think of how much happier the loner Kuhli would be if he had mates!
  10. Awesome pics! I wish I had Clowns. Must get bigger house (to be able to get bigger tank!)
  11. Also, most LFS's will test your water for you if you provide them with a sample...
  12. Would be good for us to know more details such as size of tank, how long its been set up, how many fish are in the tank and what they are.
  13. Donna to the rescue! Good luck with your lil turtle Debs. Got my fingers crossed for you.
  14. I'm with you too smidey. That was a bit horrific.
  15. More Simpsons fortunes: The price of stamps will climb ever higher. You will invent a humorous toilet lid. You will find true love on Flag Day. Your store is being robbed, Apu.
  16. I can't bring myself to read the whole article, I read the first few lines and realised that it was horrific so I stopped reading. I get so mad when reading about abuse of animals. Sometimes... I think that attackers should be subjected to the same thing they inflicted on their victims. I know this will never happen. Sometimes it should though!
  17. ick? Fish have lights? What?? :-? My experience with neons mimics others who have posted. Never had much success with them. I bought a group of 10 late last year, they are all long gone now. I've had greater success with Glowlights and Black Neon Tetras. I have some Black Neons that I've had for at least 3 years now.
  18. Oh sure, I had other stuff to do. Although I spent a considerable amount of time unemplopyed after completing a course at polytech which meant I spent lots of time hunting for jobs and when I wasn't doing that I was playing on the computer. Had a few casual part-time jobs later on, went back to polytech but inbetween that there was the drinking & partying which were the main event hehe
  19. I have to agree. Early 20's rocked. Drinking all night, sleeping all day and then you get up and repeat..and never get hungover. Those were the days. Can't do that now, get far too sick and have far too much responsibility now.
  20. Cute! Post some pics if you can. I have no suggestions for names. When I name my cats/animals I wait a few days until their personality starts to show then name appropriately. Otherwise I just name them after stuff I/we like. We have Willow (named after a character from Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Orion (named by hubby after the constellation), Ariane (after the Ariane 5 rocket launched last year) to name just a few. Or if you're feeling random... http://www.geocities.com/debverhoeven/c ... achine.htm http://paws-on-floors.co.uk/Database/CatNames.php
