I'm off to Nelson at the end of April for my Nana's 90th birthday so thought that I might take the opportunity to check out some things fishy or animal related in Nelson such as Public Aquarium displays, fish shops, animal/wildlife parks etc. I've been to Nelson lots of times but never been to any fish shops or anything like that so no idea what there is to see. Any Nelson locals able to advise on what to check out??

I probably have, but its been so long since I saw it that if I did have the DVD's it would be like watching it for the first time. Mrs Doyle is great too. I do remember the one the one where she is offering Father Ted some cake, he declines, she says "Are you sure, Father? There's cocaine in it!" Father Ted says "WHAT?" Mrs Doyle says "Oh, no, not cocaine. God, what am I on about. No, what d'you call them. Raisins."

^Pm'd I assume you're talking illegally. I wouldn't know how to do that!! And it would probably take lots of GB's of which I have already chewed through our allowance for the month. Checked the prime website in case they have that thing like TVNZ do where you can watch episodes of stuff you missed online.. but no Prime don't appear to do that.

Did anyone happen to record the premiere of True Blood on Prime last night?? I had someone lined up to record it for me (because we are currently unable to get Prime) but they messed it up somehow as the DVD they gave me which it is supposedly on, will not play in either of our 2 DVD players, PS2 or 2 computers that have DVD drives. So if anyone recorded it on hard drive and can get it on to a disc and send to me I would be eternally grateful. I will pay for all postage and the disc. I've been waiting ages to see this show.

And the water parameters? Have you tested for ammonia, nitrates, nitrites etc?

Sounds like the guppy is flashing, generally a sign that he is irritated by something. How big is the tank, how long has it been set up and what are his tankmates?

Feeding too much is possibly a contributing factor to the ammonia being so high. I feed my fish once every 2-3 days. Also the length of time between water changes might also have something to do with it. Weekly water changes would be better too, that is once the tank has cycled. Say 20-25% per week rather than 50% fortnightly.

Don't think so. I don't know anyone down this way who keeps fish. I was just thinking however, of moving Rosy Barb to the other tank, getting a few mates for him. So then I won't have to worry about it.

Up until recently I had a school of 5 Rosy Barbs, but 4 of them have died so am now left with 1. Just wondering about the possibility of getting a school of 5 or so tiger barbs to fill the tank with. I've always liked Tiger Barbs but have been a bit weary of them since they have the semi-agressive reputation. However, they would be in this tank with only the 1 Rosy Barb and 2 Bristlenoses. Would the Rosy Barb & Tiger Barbs get along ok? Also would the Tiger barbs be agressive towards the Bristlenoses? I can move the tiger barb to my other community tank if needed.

Huh. I have Aqua One heaters and they are both submerged fully.. with no problems..
