  1. So I googled.. he's from the Princess Bride? A movie which I have only seen once, which was a very long time ago and I didn't particularly enjoy so never watched again. There's my excuse.
  2. I don't know what it refers to....
  3. They should do. My zebras, Yoyos and Dwarf Chains eat a variety of foods - shrimp pellets, algae wafers, flake food, tubifex, bloodworms. They'll eat vegetables such as carrots, peas, courgette too.
  4. Stuff website rang this article the other day listing bank details for the Christchurch SPCA Pet Emergency Earthquake fund and other various funds you can donate to. http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/christc ... ow-to-help
  5. Agreed. I'm sitting here doing nothing at work. It's really quiet because we deal mainly with the Christchurch branches of the insurance companies. So obviously none of them will be emailing us, calling us or sending us new jobs. I went to Christchurch to help our office up there for a week after the 7.1 eq, so its possible I'll be sent up again at some stage. I don't know what state the office building is in but I know all our the Chch office employees are all fine. Does anyone know if the Rydges is ok? All I can offer is an airbed on the floor of the spare room at my house in Western Southland... well away from the shaking..
  6. Caryl, apparently its not the Copthorne, it was the PGG building. Over 200 people work in those offices, including Marsh Insurance brokers who we deal with a bit.. I could offer accommodation for a couple of people maybe, we don't have a spare bed, we do have an airbed though... and the spare room is a bit of a mess at the moment.. but the most important thing is that its not shaking.
  7. Oh god how terrible. I've seen a bit of footage on the tv in the office. They had an aftershock live on tv and people were screaming, running and the camera quickly panned to the Cathedral church were more of it was falling to the ground. Sent shivers down my spine both times I saw it. Absolutely horrible.
  8. Stuff website is reporting the church in Cathedral Square is destroyed! http://www.stuff.co.nz/4688231/Large-qu ... ristchurch
  9. I understand Christchurch has just had another big one. I felt it. In INVERCARGILL!
  10. And contrary to popular belief, it isn't better to let your female cat have at least one litter of kittens. That is just a myth. I've had plenty of cats in my time, currently have six. I have never allowed any of my females to have kittens and they are perfectly healthy, normal, lovely natured cats. And all my males are neutered. My neighbour just got two kittens, a male and a female if I am correct. And I'm going to make DAMN sure he gets them desexed as soon as they are old enough! I'll even volunteer to pay for it if he can't afford it.
  11. I googled 1979 and it said it was the year of the Ram? :dunno:
  12. Awww I'd take a ginga female if I could. Ginger cats are awesome. Good luck with finding them homes :happy1:
  13. Amazing photos! Never really had any desire to visit Japan.... now I do!
  14. Nice! I didn't know there was a fish shop in Q'town. Do they have a lot of stock? Might have to pay them a visit next time I'm there. I'd love to get some more I only have 4...
  15. Ohhh just noticed your in Queenstown, which shop are you talking about??
  16. Also, that photo just doesn't do them justice! The really are quiet an attractive fish. I imagine they'd look fantastic in a large school.
  17. I posted about these a few months ago. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=47533 My LFS had them labelled as Goldheaded Purple Harlequins. I believe they are a colour variation of the Harlequin Rasbora (Trigonostigma heteromorpha)
  18. I think you've got to do away with a few species.. You seem quite keen on the kuhlis so maybe up them to 5 (because they are said to be happier in larger groups) and maybe keep a group of tetras and a few plants, it'll still be colourful with the colours of the tetras against the green of the plants.
  19. This tank is 60x30x30 right?? I've entered the dimensions of your tank into the Aqua Advisor. I don't know what filter you have, so haven't entered that but it already looks like the tank may be overstocked. I have a tank of similar dimensions and only have 7 fish in it. 4 Harlequins and 3 glowlight tetras and am looking at getting 3 corydoras to complete. http://www.aqadvisor.com/AqAdvisor.php? ... ode=simple
  20. I don't play any sport, but I like watching a good game of cricket and enjoy the Aussie V8s.
  21. Zebra or Yoyo Loaches will eat snails but not grow as big as Clowns.
