    I planted a large Java fern in my main tank as it was blocking the light from my other plants and it went nuts! There are now babies all over it and it has reclaimed the surface (well it's babies have) going to have to do some pruning soon LOL.

    Maybe do a 50% water change and see what happens? Do you use water treatments in your water.

    LOL!!! My dad has a pool and he keeps goldfish. This is exactly what he does. I think a lot of it comes down to your water supply, our water is quite good here in Napier but I know that even as close as Havlock Nth (about 20-30 mins away?) a compleatly differant set of rules apply.

    The 1st time we went to Kelly Tarltons I was 7 (25 now), a stingray followed me/us for ages. I loved it but Mum was freaking out. Hmm... I've wanted fish ever since.

    LOL!! They only got it once a week so that feeding is now a frozen bloodworm feeding.

    At my flatmates last job all the smokers flicked their ash and butts into this old barrel which always had rain water in it. I used to get heaps of mozzie larvae from it. 5mins to collect, 3 hours to get to a state that I would give it to my fish but they loved it!!! Pity my flatmate doesn't work there anymore.

    Okay so let me (a livebreeder breeder) get this into terms that I can understand: You're saying that it's like crossing a Cobra Guppy with Solid Colour strain, not like crossing a Platy with a Swordtail, right? Same species, just different variations.

    Maybe run both filters at once for a couple of days? Would cause a lot more water movement and thus more oxygen. Just a thought.
