Maybe I will try adding some Filter Wool to where the exsisting Filter was running through, still have the inlet and outlet set up the same way as it was, running through the top of the Tank, I have taken all the media out of the top and placed it into the CF1200. Will try the Filter Wool in the top of where the Filter Media was, for the inbuilt Filter, before I venture into trying anything else. Thanks everyone :bounce:

I'm looking at setting up a Guppy Only Tank :bounce: I've seen one at the Petshop that I rather like, Tank and Stand would cost me round $200 Problem is it only holds 51 Ltrs, would that be alright to house a good number of Guppys?? if so around how many would I be able to have??

Good spotting Navarre I didn't even notice the heater.

OOOHHH NO I feel really sorry for you, awful when You lose a Fish and you don't know why Thats terrible, I woke the other morning to Find one of my Hoplo Catfish D E A D Had this pair for what seems like forever, then one of them up and Dies on me, have to say they must be getting on in age by now. Just hoping the other one is going to pop off sometime soon. Do you have any idea why it died?? I'm not sure what the Red Fins and Mouth would mean, never heard of that before.

The Discus Tank is being turned over 5 times already with the CF1200 Thought that would have been more than enough to be honest, as you say, with the Water Changes I'm doing weekly the filter shouldn't be having to do too much work  The only thing I can think of is the Water is being turned over more in the Smaller Tank and maybe thats why it's clearer

My 4 Boys tell me I'm too Old to race  Well I showed my oldest Boy how it's done a few weeks back He kept on nagging me "Come on Mum you haven't taken me new car out for a spin yet" well, I thought now's my chance to have a go, so I took his Skyline GTR out for a spin, with my son in the passengers seat of course, Driftered it round the corner, had the old wheels spinning for awhile lol well the look on my Son's Face was just priceless All I said to him was "Dont under estimate your Mother" Have to say I even surprised myself  Great Fun :bounce: Couldn't shut him up when we got home lol, I just played it cool like it was something I do everyday -
Yea, I did think about that Not sure if it's going to be a sort term fix it though, I dont usually run Carbon unless I'm trying to get rid of Meds in the Tanks  Could give it a go and See I guess. Thanks

Hi Guys and Girls, I have a small problem, I have 2 Tanks, 1 x AquaOne AR 980 (230 Ltrs) Discus Tank and 1 x Aquaone AR 620T (125Ltrs) Community Tank. I'm running an Aquaone CF1200 Filter on both Tanks, ther Filter Media I am using is, Bio Balls, Ceramic Noodles and Filter Wool, the Community Tank is Crystal Clear, but the Disucs Tank is kind of hazy, I'm finding this very frustrating  I do water changes of about 70% on the Discus Tank every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, I do the same with the Community Tank but only take out about 40%. Do I need to run a second Filter on my Discus Tank ?? Any ideas would be great :bounce: Lynda

My son races his Honda Civic on the Taupo Track all the time, along with racing at Manfield, Mere Mere, Christchurch and Masterton His next race is at Manfield on the 5th July :bounce: He had a Centre Page spread in the Performance Car Mag a wee while ago, along with a write up as to what mods he has done to his car and how much he has spent on it, has spent more $$$$ then he's got unforunately, very expensive hobby  Great fun to watch him race :bounce: :bounce: Is it a Toyota Race Day or is it a Race Day for everybody?? Don't worry to much about the PH, sometimes it's best just to leave it as is, rather than fiddle around trying to adjust it to where you want it, this can at times do more damage to the fish with fluctuations in the level of PH than what it worth. Bird grit in your Filter will slowly adjust the PH, for you, or place some in a cut of leg of a pair of pantyhose or knee high stocking tie the end in a knot then place in you tank somewhere where it will get abit of water flowing through it. Wow Now thats rather cool  Thanks Ira

Feliway is a Pheramone Spray, it contains a synthetic form of the Phermones a cat leaves behind when it rubs it face on something to mark it with it's scent glands, I have used it many a time, not for travelling, but for Cats spraying in the house, had a major problem with 3 of my 5 cats, when a stray cat came through the Cat Door and sprayed on the kitchen bench of all places  My cats where put on Clomicalm (which is an anti-depressant) as well as Feliway Spray, along with a visit to the Cat Pshycologist up at Massey in Palmy, cost me a fortune We were in the process of buiding a new house at the time, on a 1 1/2 Acre Lifestyle Block, never had much success with the meds they were put on, so ended up building a Cattery to house all 5 cats, they are out free to roam the Block during the day, but they are housed in the cattery at night I would highly recommend Rescue Remedy for any cat that has to travel a long distance, we humans can also use it, have used it on several occassions, it's used to treat Anxiety. A few drops can be put into the Cats Food or Water a few hours before travel, I personally would start treatment the night before. Good Luck with your travels Lynda

Have to say the quality of Guppys these days is nothing like it used to be, every Guppy I buy from the Pet Shop dies, Not sure what is up with them, go all bent and buckled after a month or so, given up on them now I would go with the Danios like Caryl said, they're a hardy wee fish Just remember give your tank some time, I know we are all very tempted to fill the Tank up with Fishys, but it's definitely worth while waiting untill your Tank Cycles properly. When I first went into keeping Fish, more than 10 years ago now, I was never told by the person at the Petshop, that I had to cycle my Tank, ended up losing lots of $$$$ worth of Fish  Good Luck Lynda
