  1. Hi there, I've used these before, found them to be fantastic, great not having to get your hands wet if you are wanting to change the temp of your heater. Had mine for about 3 yrs Lynda
  2. I have 2 of the Aquaone Tanks, an AR980 and a AR620T Neither of them are sitting on polystyrene, they are sitting straight onto the Cabinets that are made for them, had no problems what so ever.
  3. Yea, I was actually in the process of doing a Buy Now on that, then Hubby said "Look when can make something that will do the same thing and cost you next to nothing", so we potted around out in the garage for awhile and thats what we come up with, works great.
  4. The product they are using on there that attaches to the Tap is a Syphoner that is used for Waterbeds. There's no price either Probably cost me all of $5 to make mine, most of that $5 is for the Garden Hosing. Will try and set up a topic on it today.
  5. Not everybody gets 2000 Ltrs a day water allowance, so I guess we are lucky when it comes to that We are Rural but on the Town Water supply, which is trickle fed into our tank. With 5 Males and 1 Female, thats me living together, washing 7 vechiles between us all, loads of washing, seems like it's never ending at times  , showers for us all at least once a day, 2 dishwashers, water changes in Fish Tanks, hosing out the Cattery and the Doggery every day and xtra bits here and there, we have only ever run out once, not sure how many litres we would use in a day, but it would be quite a few.
  6. And the Water for regular Water Changes if your on Metered Water We're on metered water here, get 2000Ltrs a day trickle fed, once we use that we have to start paying for it, might need to check with the Council to see if you are on Metered Water.
  7. Hi Matt, Has she wormed the Budgie lately?? Diarrhoea is not good in a Budgie  Is he still eating normally??
  8. I think you will find it will all be because you have had the Flu Good Luck anyway, let us know how it goes at the Doc's if you end up going on Monday
  9. Absolutely Awesome pics Love them all :bounce:
  10. Awesome Job :bounce: Looks Great Well done
  11. Going to pop the 2 Discus that were sick into the main tank tonight, Cant wait to see all 7 of them together finally :bounce: :bounce: I will do a new thread on here with some pics when I've got them all sorted and settled in
  12. Hi Andrew, long time no see Hope things are all good with you Are you still keeping Fish?? Lynda
  13. Wow  some people on heere have some very interesting jobs My husband and I own 3 businesses in Levin Number 1 Business is Supreme Antennas: Which we have owned now for 15 years, we Wholesale and Manufacture TV Aerial Equipment, Satelite Dishes, and anything to do with TV Reception really, we supply Installers all over NZ Number 2 Business is Supreme Shoes: Which is Levin's one and only Shoe Shop, I worked for the previous owners since November, saw the Business advertised on Trade Me one day so decided to buy it, took this over in April this year and loving it. Number 3 is Supreme Lockups: This is in the process of being built at the moment, and should be open by the end of June, we are building 46 Self Storage Lockups behind Supreme Antennas. Thought instead of letting the excess land grow weeds we would do something productive with it So along with having 4 Teenage Boys, all still living at home, 5 Cats, a Dog and 3 Tropical Fish Tanks, opps nearly forgot the Rabbit, life is BUSY BUSY but very enjoyable. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  14. Or do what I do Make up an attachment to go onto your Kitchen Tap, which is then attached to a length of garden hose which has a piece of aluminium on the end of the Hose to create a hook, hook this over the side of your tank and turn your taps onto the desired temp then fill it up. Hubby made on of these up for my tanks, and I get water changes done in 15mins on 2 tanks, Discus Tank has water change of usually round 70-80% 2-3 times a week same goes for my community tank. If you want anymore info on how we made this attachment for the tap I could post piks up on here for you to look at. Items I used were, an end off a Silicone Tube (not used of course), a couple of hose clips (1 on the tap end and 1 on the hook end of the hose), Garden Hose cut to what ever length is needed, and a perferator to go onto the kitchen tap. Had Sandy off the forums come to see me and she commented on what a great idea it was for water changes :bounce: Let me know if your wanting pics Lynda

    sharing..

Ohhh NO  Not sounding good at all, any ideas what has killed Dad, you say he died from An Infection, but an infection from WHAT?? You may need to treat the Tank he was in, just to safeguard your other Fish
  16. WOW :bounce: :bounce: Totally Stunning :bounce: :bounce: Thanks for sharing them
  17. I would suggest that you grind off the sharp edges on the Flower Pot, so your Krib or any other fish in your Tank doesn't injure themselves again. Easier to prevent injury than to treat it
  18. Is funny, But I have to agree with you suphew, I dont think anything will ever be better than the Phil Collins Cadbury add.
  19. Hmmm  My Boys have been talking about this add, haven't yet seen it, sounds rather interesting
  20. WOW Luke I didn't know that, how very interesting I have 7 Beautiful Discus now and 2 Beautiful Angels :bounce: :bounce: Had to pop 2 of the last lot of Discus I got from Ron (Discusguru), in a Hospital Tank for awhile as they weren't looking good at all, all they did for 2 days was lie on there sides on the Bottom of the Tank, really thought I was going to lose them both, With excellent advice from Ron as to waht to do with them, they are now both back to normal and will be making their way to the Main Tank within the next couple of Days :bounce: :bounce: Cant wait to see all 7 Discus together :bounce: :bounce:
  21. Think of it this way Lynnie, Practise makes Perfect Sometimes first time parents need abit of time and a few batches if eggs to work out just what they are meant to be doing with them. Had the same problem with my Angels when I was breeding them, very frustrating I know, but I'm sure they will work it out in time. Good Luck :bounce:
  22. Unfortunately  I would say if the Babys can fit in their mouths, then they are going to be eaten
  23. I've got 2 AquaOne Tanks a AR620T and a AR980 :bounce: Great Tanks, never had any problems with mine, I looked into buying the UFO one, but it was to high to fit under the Rear Speakers of our Home Theatre system so ended up getting the 980 instead, the only thing I would suggest is put an External Filter on this Tank, the inbuilt Filters are ok but Externals are far better, I am running an AquaOne CF1200 on both of my Tanks are they're fanytastic. Good Luck with yours, would hate to think what they are charging you to freight it over here?? Would love to see a photo when you have it all set up. Ohh another thing, you might want to check that all the Screws are there before you start assembling the Cabinet, I had to race down to Placemakers to get some screws as there weren't enough screws in the Packet :-?
