Spinning my wheels

What spins (spun) my wheels - my feet pushing on the pedals of my bicycle when I used to have one when I was younger.

seeing any australian team get put under the pump in any sport

May I ask, why don't you like Australians? I've noticed a lot of New Zealanders don't seem to like Australians, and not just in sport like in your case, but a lot of NZ citizens just genuinely don't like Australians. For the life of me I can't figure out why :dunno: As far as I know Australians have never done anything wrong or done anything bad to NZ and I don't understand what people have against Australia.

They are Australians, what other reason do we need? :digH:

Small man syndrome Joe, we being the smaller country will always look upto Australia as if they are the enemy, pretty silly really especially when most Australians I meet love kiwis and our country. As you get older you will see what I mean.

I personally love watching New Zealand beat Australia in any sport, I also love seeing us beat any country in any sport but if we are not playing and Australia is I support them being that they are our closest neighbor and longest serving allies.

for the most part it is just friendly banter. they are our closest neighbours so it's a bit like sibling rivalry. there is also the fact that they are traditionaly very good at the sports that we compete at most fiercly (rugby, cricket, league etc.). while i must admit that it certainly "spins my wheels" to see the aussies get beaten on the sports field, it was also apparant to me when I was travelling round the world that aussies and kiwis tended to gravitate together (especialy when there was beer drinking envolved). it's similar to the north island south island rivalry. there's a lot of talk about disliking each other, but when the quakes hit in chch there were a heck of a lot of people in the north island rallying together to get money and supplies sent down to help out

I have a good Aussie friend and we give each other a hard time constantly, but it's all in good fun :)

....and to stay on topic - what spins my wheels is the gym, it's my home away from home

Being an Aussie living here, some of the best times iv had are watching a game with kiwi mates as we bag each others team out. I love both countries for different reasons. I would like to think it was more of a tough love kind of relationship.

Those were the days I could fill the motorbike's fuel tank for about 50c

Mind you, my wages were $7 - $8 per week.

i can't beat that! but my first job at countdown my wage was $5.21 per hour, which was the minimum wage at the time.

used to be under $20 to fill mums escort from E to F
