  1. yeah, i was actually thinking of a fish only salt water or a snake neck turtle i miss my snake neck how it dismembers its food really is a site kinda reminds me of a dinosaur
  2. electric yellows purple ones that look the same as electric yellows but they are bluish purple and giraffes
  3. damn GG must have bumped it too hard. it didnt look right 3 days ago or so. i do think with confidence this fish wont make it, damn, it grew so much since i got it!!! got it eating prawns nicely too lol. now i have an empty tank. was thinking of africans - but dont know where to start. had them along time ago, bout 8 in a tank, all killed each other and 2 were left.
  4. i think this is gonna bite the gravel. its not not swimming, breathing but floating and just sinking on its side permanently. skin is all faded. other fish in tank look good. really strange i think this fish will die soon
  5. like, horizontal. really sideways even halfway between upside down and side ways i dont know whats wrong with it
  6. depends where the tank is if the place is warm, you will notice that heater wont be on much. the thing is - during summer, garages are usually hot. my heaters are hardly on n the summer.
  7. it got slightly harassed by giant gourami, small giant gourami. Its fins are ok, just slight damage so i got rid of all fish in the tanks except syno and pleco who dont seem to do anything but stay by the filter pipe. then 3 days later, the borneo, 3 inches or so isnt looking too good. kinda swimming funy and doing flips in the water , swimming sideways. water parameters are fine, but changed water anyways. anyone seen this before?
  8. can you mix more than one in a tank?
  9. i think you should get yourself a jardinii:D or a red aro lol the borneo looks cool so many bichirs, it looks like something out of indiana jones..(thats a good thing) i suggest background, instead of fine gravel, try large pebbles for the bottom, size of 20 or 50 cent coins, i have some in my tank, smaller but large none the less, easy to clean cos nothing gets stuck under neath, and it makes fish look larger than they are cos of the illusion of large rocks compared to fish
  10. looking at those pics of the rays.... i suddenly feel .... slightly somewhat aroused...... did i say that out loud? anyways shame, rays are so cool went to thailand and saw plenty! they are so cheap over there, pity that country is a dirty hole lol with really nice food that are cheap with people with foreign cash:D anyways, i dont think nz will ever legally get rays like that
  11. i dont think anyone here disagrees i guessi got annoyed that the person selling was asked and said definately its the same. google will reveal that so quickly. anyways, lol i was annoying thats all. mmmm rope fish, i wish!
  12. lol ok fair enough i was surprised when you said that i actually was shocked knowing you from here, you shouldnt have said that i thought perhaps this whole confusion is a bigger phenomenon after all :-?
  13. no its not prophecy rope fish is distinctly snake like, in fact it looks like a snake. completely different species
  14. yeah i was in a rush and had too much anger inside me. So i just typed things really fast:D But yes, what i meant was rope fish is not ornate bichir but some would say its the same thing, which clearly is wrong.
  15. certain websites people highly mislbel sturff it annoys me alot!! grrr rope fish is not apparently ornate bichir just frustrating lol its like saying an oscar is a gourami or a jag is a jewel cichlid
  16. no, tried already if you could, and could bring it in it would be in our tanks im sure there are mfks here:D i certainly would have one or two
  17. deformed cigar shark definately some skeletal deformation and retardation
  18. well probably for all the rarer and monster fish, dats are the most popular here i think. dats will grow to 14inch plus but it will take probably minium of 5 to 6 years to reach this probably more. you can feed them 5 times a day and change the water 2 to 3 times a week and growth will be slow. thats good in terms of housing:D three foot will last you ages!!! sharp colouration. some say that STABLE dats will show colour i found that somepet stores will have dats and they never become stable. some dats are permanently non stable, other forums will confirm this. dark, light bars are a sign. get the ones with the really vivid bars to be sure. also i would personally get the ones that come to the front of the tank, they are more amusing and fun. hidey ones tend to never come out. feed shrimp, cooked , pink shrimps, or beef heart. pellets would be good but expensive. if you get them used to blood worm, then you will buy alot! cos they can eat lots
  19. cool good to see he/she settling in
  20. unique fish but i found them boring ish always hiding but, i was told buy 3 or more and they are; more active true or not i dont know will eat other fish:D
  21. love rock work and wood but i found that when i put too many rocks and wood the fish has less space to swim around in well, im speaking of 1 foot fish and above
  22. they are awesome fish unfortunately, they will not get along in any of my tanks generally speaking lol hope you have good luck with your tank.
  23. albino senegal apprently grows slower than the others but putting big dats will end up as dinner i think my jardinii destroyed two bichirs
  24. i dont think thats good if i did that my fish would be ill next morning or dead the amount of waste two 14 inch borneos and a big giant gourami would be deadly i think in a day
