I am curious i am reading up about ck's it says on care sheets hat some salt shouldbe added to the tank, is this tonic salt or aquarium salt for reefand salt water tanks?

Where can i source large amounts of tonic salt? not the small packs in the shops but large sacks

current inhabitants discus, parrot cichlid, rosy tetras and assortment of tetas, neons etc. clown syno pictus clown loaches checkered barbs golden barbs i wann add something thats peacful, but big ish head standers? any ideas?

This fish hasnt come around for awhile been looking, but not no bloody room lol but, thinking of the following. what is the temprament. google is inconclusive. commenst are as follows: "will avoid big fish and able to scrap with aggressive cichlids. Fast swimmer" "can be aggressive towards others of its own kind. and will destroy plants." "peaceful bottom dwellin fish" "can be aggressive when older" i wanna get one, but not sure, should i put into my jardinii tank? should i get a small one put into my asian aro tank?

i have changed the water 3 times weekly sometimes more to keep it clean. LFS said frequent water changes helps now i am thinking it doesnt. so will hold off on water changes as they are not really consuming much.

Hi there i have 2 15 inch dats old tank was about 6ph to max of 6.3ph new tank is about 7ph do you think this will contribute to its stressed behavoiur. been 3 weeks still hasnt settled and hardly eating if eating at all kinda hiding on top of the tank, close to the corner, both huddled together. like when ou see small dats in the LFS and they are all skittish like that but they are massive so obviously they cant really hide. they were never lik that the wide bar was always kinda shy but the INDO was always outgoing and to the front waiting for food. any ideas? temp is 25 to 26 c water parameters are fine

not doubting its power. in fact, praising it constantly:D but i am curious, and its not in the manual that i can see, how the water flows, fom in to out. the bio media is in the middle which is separated on the side and only at the bottom that the water can come through. i wanna know how the water flows through this filter.

always fed jardinii prawns. when you look at the nutritional value of the c. gold hikari, shrimp is actually a rip off. shrimp has no vitamins and stuff - only 17% protein. from now on, c gold is my food for my main fishes. I have some other stuff for my barbs and neons etc, they can finish that. jardinii jst ate about 8 pellets in one sitting, not much but hes starting to warm up to the food! now gotta train my new 1.5 to eat them:D hes still not eating them, but interested, not hungry enough i guess.

it eats pellets, hikari cichlid GOLD. it eats it first shot! it already had some shrimp! all this time then it eats it suddenly must taste nice

as an adult, this is what it should look like. Wan Hu Farm sent me this pic themselves. This is the fish i have as we speak, they said chances are some have slightly more red tails, some have yellow tails, hard to tell untill its older but this is the general appearance when adult. I reckon it still looks pretty and nice! Though RTG or an XB is definatley better! but hey. those are 3 times more so for now his is ok for me:)

yeah i have been emailing with him recently about it. gave me some good advice, i got some good lighting already, i jsut dont know how will mount the light on the side of the tank or the side of the body lol a blue base xb malaysian will be about 3500 to 4000 lol a little too rich for me right now maybe one day. see funny, i have owned plentyof fish but arowana is still my favourite. other fish just dont do it for me. something about the arowana and how it swims and eats.

hey David R, yeah it was a great price, i was not gonna spend more n it, 1000 would have been utter most max and even then that extra 100 was the deterent to yes or no. But 900 it was cheap people say the colour isnt that nice, but as you can see with the riht bulb, it doesnt look too bad, the video too is there. with a tanning regime, the colour should get a little darker, not grade A but still a gorgeous fish!! GORGEOUS! in the new tank just 2 hours, not eating yet,gonna get some peat to blacken the water a little. next when i get my 1200 litre set up would be a XB or a blue base XB or a RTG:D

I havent named him yet but my GF will surely name him something like "Grumpy Bum the second" (Grumpy bum the first is the jardinii) lol pics below

i love piranhas! silver dollars look similar when really old hen the forehead starts to ridge forward. but not the same, no sharp nasty assss teeeeth! but hey, i had a pacu, if you can get a massive tank or pond for a pacu, they are like piranhas in steroids, will maul and mulch anything! even glass heaters and plecos

i have no idea. i dont breed stuff lol i just appreciate their beauty but i am not into breeding generally

I checked on my tank today, my parrot started to spawn, so i gues its a female. Stcking its eggs at the bcak of the tank and chasing anyone who ges near. lots of eegs, could almost be 2 to 3 hundred perhaps. shame its not fertilised!

cut her nails and muzzle her perhaps?

if i am not mistaken, one of you guys here told me the same thing, i refuse to believe it but i finally realised its true just cos its on the list doesnt mea they will import them for 8 monts i contacted all petshos in the country to bring in different freshwater puffers. They refuse they say it dies too easily in transport. Stress alone kills them or something plus they always have diseases and stuff. if its so easy then i believe there would be more in the country

good luck not many in nz not allowed to come in anymore the ones that can come in really rarely gets imported due to the fact they dont transport well you will be hard pressed finding any
