honestly, its probably best to buy a new one unless the tank is big enough and that brand new its a fortune, its not worth shipping that far.

an i do this? 180cm long by 76 by 76

yes, some rivers and lakes in the world induce spawning from cold water surges how? and why? melting peaks of mountain ice trickel down and dcool the water, a sign that the right time has come. my two 14" dats actually seek the cold jet of water. afterwards they love to play in it and be more active obviusloy you dont wanna do a 70% water change thats just foolish but 30 is fine, even 50% i have done with not problems. if you actually most tropical fish, they will actually survive in water about 21 to 22 degrees, thats 2c under the prescribed temp

in my EXPERIENCE not opinion the build just isnt as good the baskets are hard to fit you fiddle for minutes trying to just stack them. the handles dont tuck properly on the side. the rubber rings around the pipes in the baskets dont fit snug and stuff etc i just think aqua one out of all of them fit the best i think but i would go with fluval eheim i just got myslf a brand new fluval 404 MASSIVE POWER, brand new with media for $170 that can filter up to 500 litres i think its brilliant! there are always good deals just look for them on trademe and on this site:d
-
yeah, i made that somment that baskets and stuff dont fit properly and with the faunty this is CERTAINLY the case its sufficient for what i use it for, only one fish, though the fish is messy its ok the sheer amount of water it moves is good, so i guess the high volume of the 1200 which is the one i have is sufficient. but the baskets dont fit right at all, you have to really wiggle the sh*t out of it the rubber orings in the baskets to seal gaskets are not good either, so you have to be careful. generally the quality is not that good, but sufficient for per say a community tank if you have two wiht smaller fish but i would never trust it for my massive fishes and monsters.... the aqua ones fit perfectly fluvals even better the fluvals are really good value fi you ge ta second hand one and repair it they generally last for ever aqua ones are the next best thing
-
i have a faunty mtor is strong and poewrful the finish is poor the plastic is not high strength as aqua ones and fluvals but, its 100 bux, value for money, hey, you cant go wrong its currently filtering my pig nose puffer tank. and its sufficient aleas and faunty is the same, just colour different, the generic parts in them are the same. its like some canned pine apple is also made by dole, just budget relabels them. personaly, i would get either cos they work fine, just when you are looking at more expensive fish, i guess youw ant more peace of mind i do anwyays, when fish get to 300 above you need to be sure

discus, mollies, one sword tail syno pictus tyre track parrot (growing out its small right now) dward gouramis 2 cigar sharks all the other fish are fine, wimming nicely, colouration, eating etc it looks likes the clowns belly is full - but i havent see it eat but fair enoughsometimes they eat when no ones looking like my royal just actin gweird. its a really nice colour i dont wanna lose it -
My clown knife, bout 5 inches max. usually actuve, swimmingall the time last two or three days, not active at all seems likeits stomach is full of food, as it looks lik when it eats food. but i haventseen it eat anything as of late. and i havent fed it anything it would like to eat recently but its stomach looks the same. now its just kinda swimming lethargically. not moving much. not chasing food as usual. im concerned. the food in its stomach doesntseem to be passing thbrough. i fed it usually prawns. whatswrong with my clown? all other aspects, colour, everything looks great. its belly seems really full. but hasnt eaten anything o they eat rocks? there are no fish in there it could possibly eat or swallow. water is good, its in wth some discuss as im growing it out
-
not, not for now when the oscar gets bigger perhaps the tank is 375 litres, if you add those fish i think IMO its the maximum you can have with out doing bi weekly changes
-
yeah, all i know is kim she has them, only a few a year.

thats true i agree dead fish doesnt always mean bad filter all im saying, that after looking into it - actually my friend did, he is an engineer that designes plastics and medical equiptment, he looked at it and said the following i just said. that flow is good but if you have little tiny gaps, that always canabilises your filtration cos water bypasses your actual media but, aqua one is good, i would say its very good, i have one too. i bought cheaper knock offs and they were bad. hence why most of lfs dont supply those cheaper ones anymore only aqua ones as the cheapest chinese knock off. in saying that, if you have a fish room, it would suggest you have a breeding programme or really really into your fish, like me, who do regular water changes, probably minimum once or twice a week. if you are a discus breeder then probably more, i have heard discus breeders do daily water changes or the auto drip systems and stuff - not sure. i would sitll go for fluval, its only 60 bux. i guess, i just have a new found respect for fluvals and the quality of the craftsmanship and finish and everything, how they fit perfectly together making sure everything is water tight and that the trays all are really micro designed so water flow is directed into the media
-
before i would say get the knock off cheap and value aqua one is good, but fluval is exceptional i found out why when they make the plastic moulds, the fluvals have exact fit! meaning less leak and pressure loss so water is directed where you want it also means when its clogged, it still filters but lets you kow by the outlet having a weak stream the aqua ones and cheaper stuff, it doesnt have weaker streams untill its exccesively clogged, becaues it has gaps between trays and the fittings meaning that water still goes through, so the filtration isnt as good. i would spend the 60 extra, the end of the day, you could potentially lose more in one bad day if you dont get a good filter. but, 170, if you spend an extra little bit, you can upgrade to 205 which is far better and will future proof you. if not, then 105 is definately the superiod product i bought a knock off.... the shit oin it snapped i have had my fluval for 9 years, no problems ever
-
you know, that picture its not that easy having a tank that looks that clear and pretty you need expensive lighting, fertilisers, diffusers probably, not to mention a really good filter or two to make it extremely clear. but, it is a worthy goal! i too want a tank like that.

here is the thing pet shops sell expensive foods. Vitamin this, vitamin that. i feed my pellet eating fish mostly economy pellets - pond koi pellets. They eat it, it grows them - and it seems to be fine. dont actuallyknow - how much exactly does a fish consume of vitamin c in the wild? i mean - do they go up to the local 'fish' market and buy the freshest veges? or is it opportunistic - what ever comes up. i have dwarf gouramis, extremely bright in red and blues. i ook at mine and compare it to the pet shops - the colour is the same. same brilliance and vividness of colour. i feed mine pellets, they feed theirs fancy expensive spirulina. how does someone actually measure the colour of their fish. i mean i have seen my friends and cousins fishes especiallyin the philippines- some as bright as in a magazine, bt they feed cheaper pellets not the fancy ones you see in the shops that costs 60 per kg and stuff. anyone here actually have any info on why these are claimed to be better? as an example, my jardiniis colours are the sma as the "nice" examples i have seen online. i feed mine shrimp while others feed theirs fancy hikari and branded foods. they claim it makes the colour nicer.........does it really? cos i dont believe it
