  5. i want to knowwho has had experience with this can i put jags in with oscars, giant gouramis, two massive borneos? also, i wanna kow the growth rate of jags? should i get a jag thats already big? or jag thats small and raise it with other fish till its big enough to put in with the nasties? maybe raise it with oscars so they grow up together first?:

jags, i know when breeding they are nasty but single jags? are they deadly usually? or can they be in a aggressive community?

yes, thinking of red devil cheap
  10. oh ok so blue dempseys would probably be pushed around and bullied in a tank of jags, oscars, giang gouramis and aggesive cchlids?
  11. can these guys hold their own? against more...... lively fish aggressive? or more passive chich? google says they get up to 20 cms is this common or unusual?
  12. i see ill have to keep a close eye the borneos dont seem interested like they wre with cigar sharks and knife fish ill update ya
  13. i have my two large borneos they used to bge housed in a tank full of jabs and cichlids so i know they dont just kill anything they dontsee as prey. i introduce agiant gourami. about 60% their size. before, they straight away take a nip or look to see whats the new fish this time they jsut casually swim past it then the giant gourami sticks its under fins out and challenge them! strange what i did prior, 2 to 3 weeks, i put tem in tanks side by side where they could see each other all the time. opinons? im keeping a close eye on them but any ideas why the giant gourami seems to be more ....... aggressive than the gant borneos?
  14. i didnt think so how do you get drift wood in shops ..... from a tree that snapped soaked in water, sun and elements i just put two beautiful pieces (my opinion) in my jardinii tank. ill send pics soon but not sure if they jar has enough swimming space ... i think it does but ill see
  15. well consensus seems to be good
  16. Just wondering if i pick up wood from the beach wash it, soak it in water for 8 months then it sinks brush it with steel brush remove soft wood wash it again are the tannins poisonous? i mean this has been on a beach for who knows how long apart from tannins, sap is long gone. any ideas? what could this do apart from increasing acidity?
  17. yeah it is pretty awesome some are not as handy to just make that i certainly am not ashamed to admit it it does look awesome
  18. mark perhaps separating them from the others so incase they lay eggs, its not eggs benedict for breakfast for everyone else lol but awesome stuff, hope it was the senegals, that would be awesome
  19. well in saying that after the goldfish stimulating its apetite, its eaten a small piece of shrimp and has become more active again
  20. lol ok well, its a 500 dollar fish:P and its huge now! i love that fish but fair enough ill wait a few more days and try again
  21. mm ok this one is a picky one relatively compared to other aros i have owned eats only prawns and live food. i only gave it two gold fish to stimulate feeding. it worked with my borneo tigers. to get its metabolism going again.
  22. my jardinii eats alot usually about 2 weeks ago it ate so many prawns then after, ate only a couple a day then last 4 to 5 days wouldnt eat prawns..... though its a new brand, it would bite, and spit it out..... probably in 4 to 5 days ate total of 1 or 2 prawns. every thing in the tank is eating fine. tested water and water was perfect no badness. ph is 6.0 so to stimulate feeding - i put 2 gold fish, was gone in 5 seconds. so it was obviously hungry but ignoring prawns. anyone with aros have this experience where there is a lull in feeding? mark? i know you have a jar - ever had this? strange. cant help it but to be worried slightly
