  1. did you buy one from him? his fish are in good health must admit they look nice, but a tad too expensive, i guess no one else brings them in at that level.
  2. the market isnt big, so when it comes in, its gotta sell or else it will sit for ages. there is this importer, you probably know him, he brings in rtgs, chilli reds, vip red, xbacks. vip sold for about 4000 the xbacks i think will sell for 2800 to 3k. rtgs and chillis i think sell for 2k to 2500 max. i think rtg isi best value at 2k
  3. yeah, depends on how much you wnt one, and how much you want to save. the xbacks and high grade asians are readily available now, they are imported every too 4 months - so if you wanted one, then you can save for ages and get one. i guess it depends on priority, some dont prioritise it which is fair enough. butsome are sicker in the head than others...which is also fair enough:D but i agree, cost is prohibitive so its a good chance to own an asian aro with the cheaper greensif they are indeed coming. i think they look nice personally
  4. the colour is still nice but fair enough- jars look different though, i also like them. But i agree, the greens are not as nice, the 1.5 reds i have i think look better. One thing that is leaning me towards not buying is that i would rather save that space for a RTG or Xback or something
  5. eah, i dont think its that highly exotic ones but they just said green arowana malaysian. so i assume its the normal green. and also said they are cheap ish, and very small
  6. dont wanna say - maybe they were not supposed to say?? lol but suffice to say - it was a definite "yes, we are gettin green malaysian aros" 4 to 5 weeks time. dont know what grade, but green doesnt really have grades. they are not graded as they are not really bred like the reds and golds etc correct me if i am wrong though, but thats wha ti have read and been told
  7. I heard that there is a shipment of green malaysian arowanas! anyone can confirm this"?
  8. i have had clown loachs on and off for years, nly recently i have made it a mission to get them HUGE! never had one die, they are always seeming hardy and easy to care for. filtration though, surprisingly, those little things eat lots! i am amazed at how the belly almost looks like it will explode. so if they were eating, maybe filtration isnt enough. i keep mine to 29 degrees or so give or take 1. and do 30% WC everyweek - and the tank is also over stocked. i have two canister filters on it.
  9. yeah, i had a royal knife ages ago that ate immediately. i had a very small clown knife ages ago that died , its stomach bloated and didnt deflate.... that didnt eat for ages. apparently they are vulnerable when they are young but when bigger, they are rather hardy
  10. keep them young, they look much cooler with the gills... perhaps keep handfeeding them like a baby and keep giving them an allowance, so they wont grow pu:D ok, obscure:P anyways nice tank! so many dats! amazing the silver aro dont attack the small one:D trial and error! in this case there was no error.
  11. Does anyone know where i can get massivore pellets? does anyone parrallel import fish food? massivore pellets sound like an awesome food!
  12. mmmm, how the hell did you do that! i wanna get mine eating sinking carnivore pellets! but no luck! so shrimp first, when it gets bigger, ill feed it on other stuff. i want it to get strong and fat first then starve it out and feed it other things
  13. after 8 days of no eating, little clowny has eated 4 pieces of shrimp and i can see that tiny little bump on his belly! im gonna over feed the sucker and get him huge!
  14. i was joking about the jardinii!! come on! people! put a pangasius sutchi catfish or a pacu:D pacus are nice, they are tiny fish ok im kidding pleaes dont buy a pacu!
  15. you know that the likelihood of a bigger tank being purchased is unlikely:D its usually best to purchase a big one at the start. Reason. When you have fish, you keep buying fish stuff:D so you waste more money, shall i say SPEND more money, waste is such a nasty word but i agree, oscars can get big, but if they grow up together, well fed, COULD be ok. i had an oscar, friendly as hell! put a jardinii in there..... it wouldnt work, but would be entertaining for a few minutes
  16. yeah, i will switch to a finder substrate, sandish type, dark colour. man! that sucks whereis the best place to buy this? i find that pet shops are expensive. where is the best place to buy this stuff?
  17. yeah thats what i found but i thought it was my imagination damnit! bigger stones look so nice! it has this MONSTER feel to it. but it is harder to keep clean!!! i just wanted someone to giv eme the same conclusion. Will have to change it:(
  18. I am wondering what is easier to clean? Big stones as substrate. Stones the size of big marbles ranging to size of eggs OR your average small gravel maybe slightly smaller than the size of peas. I have recently put big stones at the bottom of my aro tank, i found that when i syphoned the bottom, It was harder to take the crap out, and it seemed like there was more crap to take as opposed to when it was a finer smalle gravel. Is this my imagination or is this because it is harder to clean?
  19. i think theey grow slow to a certain extent when they get to a 4 to 6 inches, they can consume more, hence probably the growth is more but from a small fish, they grow slow!
  20. i got 8, yes i wanna grow them up move them, i wana give my asian aro tank mates they love shrimp, i crush up shrimp and they eat it up i have seen pictures of 11 inch ones! i want 11 inch clown loaches! lol
  21. anything else? they seem slow growers or isthat cos i dont feed them enough?>
  22. i see ok, they do love blood worms and discus tucker!
  23. how do i feed them in a comm tank? want to mke them huge!
  24. is that ok for freshwater set ups is it the same as tonic salt?
