  1. but they are readily available in NZ, Cheap, with full warranties??????????????????????????????????
  2. $600 - $650 in winter, $450 - $500 in summer.
  3. Front of tank video for Alois.... http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b111/ ... 000131.flv and a quick look at the fishroom including new frag tank...... http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b111/ ... 000133.flv
  4. Theres strong current around the whole tank, just that the zenia is soft and moves
  5. For those that dont frequent "other fish forums", heres a video I took on the camera this week, not good quality and i had to feed the fish to get them out of the way, so some flakes still floating about.... http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b111/ ... 000116.flv http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b111/ ... 000115.flv
  6. I think it was whetu's Mum, not the cats.
  7. Not quite Lucas, the sentra didn't have corals and fish, swimming in the oil, and living for years in there own sewage. If you can't be bothered doing the maintenace, dont do it.
  8. They must have heard about you...................
  9. The ones I use to use have a multiboard as part of them and do not (thats right, do not) have to be manually restarted after a power cut. It amazes me we have people posting on here saying they have never used one, and they dont need one, and only 30% of people use them etc etc. You should hide the fact that you are stupid, not tell everyone.
  10. I personally have never had a prob with the staff at either HFF's, and in fact prefer to be allowed to look around the shop, without assistants annoying me with "can i help you, what sort of fish are you looking for, etc etc", then when I'm ready to purchase, I'm quite happy to get a assistant to help. I guess it's a happy medium (yes, I'm a retail shop owner), but being harassed by staff (dick smith?) the moment you walk into a shop is not good retail IMO.
  11. Thats true Matt, but is it worth the risk, sooner or later it will become shrimp cocktail.
  12. Spidersweb, wow, shocking advise. IMO noone should be running a tank, marine especially, without a RCD. and your a mod???, telling people a little bit of water and 240v is ok, not life threatening?. You should think before writing that crap, you going to be responsible when someones little kid gets electrocuted, cause the chap on the site said RCDs were more trouble than they are worth.

    AUTO TOP OFF

Just what I was thinking, Slot cars is code for _________?
  14. Got a 1000w and a 500w in my system, so yes, you can get bigger ones.
  15. Thats a big maybe with the trigger. None are really reef safe - some nigers are ok, some aren't, some will be ok for a while............ Personally would not put one in if you value Mr Shrimp.
  16. 2000 - 3000l should be fine in any students flat
  17. ok, you've got diatoms, hair algae, just wait for the cyno
  18. Its just hair algae, common and one of the algae phases you'll go through. Remove what you can, be patient as it will come back, but eventually, as your tank matures, it will die off. Without being rude, this is very basic saltwater stuff, which you should know before setting a tank up. Do some more research, buy a book or two.
  19. Yep, love to know what the spa is using - I guess at about $100 a month, Also running pumps etc for water, but tank costing about $200 a month? and 2 freezers (got to have one for bait etc, dont you?)
  20. Should have added, 2 adults and 2 kids, 1 spa pool, 1 mutha reef tank, fish room under house - not isulated. This was a reading, average for winter $600, summer about $480.
  21. Can't believe no-ones put up our national bird the kiwi. We have a pair living in the bush at the back of our place, and at times they are so close they wake you with there calling - very cool.
  22. good, that slimer has always had great PE, except in JSS's tank
