hi all just a quick question in my redsea max i have removed the white filter pad and have cut the black spong in half. Every 3 days i remove the black spong and swap it for the other half i have allready cleaned and then wash the dirty spong out. I have read that a lot of redsea max owners have removed both white pad and black spong but if there was no spong would that mean the dirty water going over the overflow would go stright to the skimmer and at worse blocking it and making the skimmer very dirty very quickly and would the water be as clear without being filtered with the spong. thanks perren

Hi all i have redsea max that has been setup for about 2 months it has about 20 kg of live rock. My fish stock at the moment is as follows 1x clown 1x bi-colour blenny 1x prawn goby orange spot 1x cleaner wrasse does any no were i can get a flame angle and a yellow tang from. Thanks perren

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO DO THIS ?DO YOU JUST LET IT FLOAT AROUND THEN LET YOUR PRE-FILTER TAKE CARE OF IT THEN CLEAN YOUR PRE-FILTER. THANKS PERREN

If most tangs wont eat hair alage then what fish is the best to get that will eat hair alage. I have a redsea max no hair alage over my rock just on the back glass panel.

hi all what should the water level be at in the back chamber of the red sea max so that the skimmer works at its best. At the moment with the skimmer on the micro bubbles inside the skimmer brake about 10 ml below the collection cup this does allow a dry looking foam to rise into the cup does this sound right ? thanks perren

hi all i have a red sea max it has been setup for about 6 weeks i have about 15 kg of live rock. I dont have any hair alage on the rock but i do on the back glass. I have some live rock rubel in the return pump chamber and have taken out the white sponge and cut the black sponge in half. I have rowaphos and sea/gel carbon mix in the chamber next to the skimmer. Is this the right place to have the rowaphos and carbon/mix. I have also noticed first thing in the morning before the lights go on brown string like alage on the sand base this disapears after the lights have been on for a time what is this is it just the tank cycleing? i have a feather duster worm in my reef tank does it need to extra feeding i use sea water from the napier aquirium for my water changes does this contain plankton ? if i do need to feed can someone tell what food to use?
