  1. world record then , 42 pound snapper eh, real fishie story.
  2. Water volume is always a benefit Catbrat, but nutrient export via macro algae is not particularly effective. Some even fertilise so macro algae can grow - go figure.
  3. If you put fish in a refugium, it ceases to be one. A refugium is just that, a refuge from predators so pods, shrimp, worms , algae etc etc can breed, multiply and add goodies to your whole system. Put pipefish or any other fish in it and it becomes just another sump with fish in it. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS. You wont get the benefits of a refugium otherwise.
  4. LOL, still looks like a very nice tank.
  5. got u there, that was some scary setup, think of the $$$
  6. I was just kidding about the HGH, thats a italian thing i think. Can't help they way I am. Always said what i thought, and got into trouble for it at times. BTW, your corals changing - colour and growing - will be interesting to see what it looks like in 6 months.
  7. Agree on the most part, but don't know about basic Drifty, whats makes it anymore basic that yours or mine? I'd just like to get some of those corals.
  8. HGH??? might be a language thing as well Wasp? Come to think of it, sounds a bit like me

yeah, secret squirrels, waste of typing if thats all we're going to get. Wheres reef anyway, he can tell us who it was that helped him set his tank up
  10. Come on Marko shark, its rubbish talk like that that confuses newbies. There are just as many, if not more tanks that look just as good with MH. Take a look at the May TOTM on RC, plenty of grunty MH and the tanks a stunner. As long as you have enough light of the right type, you can't blame your lighting system.
  11. yep, I know Tims been a big help, just pulling his leg after all the praise. I remember SteveA i think giving me an blast about thanking people for supplying equipment that worked as it should, and replacing it if it didn't, asking me why I was thanking people for doing exactly what they should, and are paid to do. Bit like over praising a tank manufacturer because his tanks dont leak
  12. spoken a little too soon eh!,
  13. Dont think its worth mucking around with Fmxmatt, I'd drain it and dry it, and sort it. Ask the tank manufacturer for a discount
  14. yep, nice, something about these Polish guys, nice system!
  15. Why am I not surprised that The Conch would want one of those ugly buggers!!!!

    Miracle Mud

The thing is Drifty, how would your colour and growth be without it?? Better, the same?? I guess thats the problem in this hobby, you don't really know how these product (most of them, not just MM) affect your tank simply because we are not running an identical tank alongside to act as a test. Your right, each to there own, not meaning to offend.

BTW reef, not having a go at you, just trying to get info on what this mud is, and why it's a miracle. Always seemed to me to be one of those "snake oil" products, i.e. claims alot with no evidence. After all, you have given zeovit heaps over the years for exactly the same thing - not telling people whats in the formulas and evidence that it works.

or regular large NSW water changes to achieve the same and more. Ideal for all corals in what way??? What will it do for my acros other than make them brown?

Why would you add nutrients, so your algae can grow, to remove the nutrients!! And what "minerals and vitamins" are you adding, and what corals if any, need it?

    Miracle Mud

You don't need MM to get that sort of algae growth, Mine grows in my refugium just as well (when nutrients available) on bare rock.
  21. ok, understand, we should go into business - coral paving ltd.
  22. mmmmmm, so what happened to " I'm not bringing sps in, got too many already" :-?
