  1. and the thing I really don't like about the resun controllers are that you can't set the flow - they change from low - med - high, but you ncan't just have them on low, or just on high - pita.
  2. any sps on the pillar Marko, live ones that is
  3. , I agree, for the price they are good, and they do move some water.

    Phyto

Pretty fair assessment reef, I tend to agree that it is not for sps, however dosing as a tonic almost once or twice a month in an sps tank has shown benefits for me, and my tank is low nutrient. One question though, Phyto is a live food, and i presume stays alive in a reef tank situation, How can it pollute a tank if it stays alive until eaten. I can understand an algae bloom where they multiply and your tank goes green), but polluting because of over dosing?

    leakage ?

Its normal Kevin, prob always been there. Got a bit in my tanks, it's a bit worse after its been damp for a while. Tried a Titanium grounding probe, made no difference, so gave up worrying about it.
  15. I was saying sorry about not thinking your photos were cute, I wasn't one of the bloodthirsty lot that wanted it hurt.
  16. No its not Ira, don't get me started on cats, can't stnd them (that'll get some going)
  17. so that makes it ok Ira?? One rouge dog can kill dozens of kiwis in one night, one lone fixed ferret will do the same, and both the owners, if able to be found, should be prosecuted.
  18. First started with a chap in Te Atatu, can't for the life of me remember his name, who owned a petshop there, and began importing marines. He was partly deaf, a good bloke and I use to help him with shipments etc .This was 30 odd years ago. Found Aquazoo in Ellerslie that had a few tanks, and then Jansens, yes around the back of the old shop and downstairs into the dungeon. Met Dave from HFF about 20 yrs ago, and the rest is history. My first tanks were flash as, nova roof for the full underground filter, airstone for lifts, nothing else. But they were surprisingly successful.
  19. Off topic in the off Topic forum???????????????????????
  20. I guess when you see what these things have done and still are doing to our flora and fauna, you understand why. Go and have a look at the Waipoua Forest and look at the white husks of giant Kauri trees, hundreds of years old, and killed by possums. It isn't the possums fault, its ours, but we need to do everything we can to help. A bit like someone keeping a pet stoat or ferrit - should be against the law.
  21. Bit of an old wives tail about big snapper not being good to eat, good reason for it though. I have no problems taking 20 pound + snapper to eat, and have done many times.
  22. In fact if that fish was really 16 Kg, it would have qualified for the 8Kg, 10Kg and 15kg line weight Mens world record. Time for a new pair of scales.
  23. The all tackle world record is 17.2Kg caught off Motiti Island.
