    water change

if grey it could be either a bacterial bloom, or "dust" from the gravel or from the water. if it doesn't settle in a few days and you have abnormal water params (high ammonia, nitrite, nitrate) try a live bacteria solution. if that doesn't work, then try a flocculant to settle the cloudiness (don't forget to check your filter flow afterwards)
  2. also may have swallowed a stone causing a blockage. is it on a gravel substrate???
  3. have fun and don't get caught, I think its illegal to take gravel from rivers without a permit (or Iwi)
  4. Milford. problem is that its too cold to go hunting half the time, seems like someone needed to get warm at NZ's largest natural wetlands the other day.
  5. yeah up to the surface, don't want to hear about drug addicted fish soon.....
  6. why would you want to gravel vac without water changing????? We sell them, have heard they are awesome for small ponds. useful as they are quite powerful. then again, your tanks count as small ponds...... seriously you might as well syphon and water change.
  7. yes seriously.... http://www.kittywigs.com/
  8. I know the TGA SPCA doesn't let any dog or cat go without being neutered
  9. they are both recessive genes, so possible you will end up with heaps of browns, or even lutino's (correct me if im wrong)
  10. I thought the REAL NZ was anywhere that wasn't Auckland
  11. buy him a couple of small feeder guppies, normally perks them right up and yes they do get depressed
  12. most test kits are not very accurate, they are best to give you an "Idea" but still 1.0 difference seems a bit strange, any contaminants in the testtube??? also if they continue gasping for too long after the air is back on, they may have ammonia burns to their gills
  13. +1 had a dive in the sounds once, heaps of brightly coloured stuff there,
  14. every other fish with them is fine, water params perfect, happened in 3 different tanks. only thing I can think of is maybe a genetic thing, or something they were exposed to before arriving.
  15. i'm pretty sure it not that subsidized with the price of it atm.
  16. can't be worse than our current arrangement. at least I would have access to my $10,000 in super
  17. +1. but just remember they are not designed for picking up beer, cake or steak. but they do well for pinching girls bottoms, and grabbing the remote.
  18. I wonder how well his red-eye tetra's are going??? Got given 20 of them by an importer, they have all grown growths on their mouths and keeled over only got 4 left 6 months on.
  19. its a foreign country that takes good care of a large amount of our sheep, and has minimal JAFA population. p.s. Crans bullies are non migratory so are only found in the north island, but As I was told the other day due to their non migatory habit they got seriously affected by the Taupo eruption (obvious if you look at the map)
  20. still not gonna share with the Aussie scum
  21. hands and gravel siphons.... other than that its just tank making tools and filter floss.....
