its a live bacteria solution specifically designed to combat thread algae. im not sure if the pond SAT is that good for Aquarium algae as pond thread algae and blanket weed is different strain of algae. but it is harmless to overdose this stuff so give it a go and let us know how it turns out. I like to do a dose of algaefix then dose of SAT, its better at preventing than killing.

just a couple of things, You do realise that both the Blue Acara and the Convict will dig away your aquascape in a very short time. and both will move plants to where they like them. also you will probably encounter problems mixing those two together, the Acara's are a bit on the soft side for Convicts.

I agree, when I was breeding golden panchax too much meth blue seemed to be harmful. although I found that as soon as they get in the mood, seperate them and feed the girls up on high fat high calcium foods seemed to work ( in my case, minced apple snail and white worms) as soon as they look obese (1-2 weeks) pop the males in and boom........ must note that coincidentally The males were placed in the tank next door and could see the ghetto booty developing and stayed in full breeding mode the entire time.

welcome to the spawning game. every fish is different, I bet you could find a couple of newbies who spawned them first time in their 30L aquarium with pH of 7.6 and water changes once per month.

last couple of females I have seen have been a lot sharper point than normal in the dorsal (still slightly rounded) for some reason the biggest indicator of in-breeding in these fish seems to be dorsal deformities. (at one time the biggest supplier had around 200 fish from 4 initial fish, after 2 generations of inbreeding most females had kinked dorsals and stunted anal fins, males tended to look fine)

a nice tank makes selling the fish in the first place easier. even if its a few fake plants or so (easy to move) I focus on making my fish happy and healthy, that way they sell quicker and the people come back to buy more. my motto is "im not here to sell you your first tank, im here to sell you your second and third." happy fish = happy fish keeper. I'd hire you if I could. nice attitude, now drop the judgmental side and work on fixing. btw... if you want a good reference for the pet industry, do some volunteer hours at the local SPCA. and seriously, 19yr old, living at home in one of the best student cities in the world, do some study instead.
