  1. Monocirrhus polyacanthus. On the allowed list. Sound like a neat fish! Do we have them? Or am I dreaming?
  2. Goldfish :sml2: Messy buggers!
  3. We have some green fire tetras at work, very cool looking little fish!
  4. Pretty impressive for 7 days growth! Can I hire you to scape my next tank?
  5. Hi guys! I've decided to start up a wee business doing pet portraits and am looking to expand my portfolio. Just focusing on dogs at this stage. To begin with I'm only charging $50 for an A4 pencil portrait or $30 for an A5 size (plus cost of frame if desired) - Very cheap when you consider they're usually at least $150 a pop elsewhere Limited spots and keen on seeing a range of breeds (Mutts very welcome)! I can only finish around 2 A4s or 4 A5s a week at the moment so will be doing them on a first in first served basis!! Happy to courier at buyers expense. They're a different style compared to your usual pencil drawing, each piece is unique - see below. If anyone's interested please let me know :happy2: Example of A5: Example of A4:
  6. Anyone had much luck with these? Trying to convince Danny Datnoid to eat something other than bloodworms. Would maybe defrosting them or cutting them up help? Using beef heart and prawn variety. Any other food suggestions for Datnoids (4cm young)? He's in a tank with young Geos (5cm), a severum (12cm), featherfin (10cm) and a couple of kribs. Not fussed on his growing quickly, just want some variety. He does eat the occasional pellet but as most are is addicted to bloodworm. Gets live food every other week Oh, also tried a few waxmoth larvae the other night for the sake of it. Everyone seemed keen until they tasted them - ALL spat them back out :slfg:

    Bwahahahahaa

Haha seen this before but it still cracks me up! "Idk, give him angry eyebrows or something?" :gigl:
  8. If you mean Wolfgang, that would be a Cavoodle  Was my brothers dog but turned out he liked me better, oops haha
  9. I regret selling my ghost knife :tears: I was planning to shut down the tank but later decided to keep it. Now looking at getting a much bigger tank (400Lish) so will get another one I think.
  10. Here's Sydney, Wolfgang and Cooper in the tub after a romp at the dog park And here's poor Sydney last week after having surgery on his knee I won't post pictures of the many foster dogs I've had haha
  11. My yellows get along great with my demasonis, but those are just other mbuna cichlids
  12. Here's a few pictures of my Tortie pointed Ragdoll/Birman/Persian/Chinchilla girl (quite a mix I know!) Athena
  13. Why hello there Laura! Finally found your way to the home of bonkers and fish mad
  14. How much did the hood cost? We're needing one for the same tank.
  15. Rinse it in a pillow case, it's what I did with my coral sand and it worked a treat!!
  16. "All set in his tank." :dunno: Not sure on what planet I'd consider that a 'tank'
  17. I think we need to add our own pics! :happy2: Here's my girl Athena in her "and the cow jumped over the moon" position.. Not overly awkward but pretty darn cute!
  18. When you test for nitrates, shake the two bottles REALLY well. For a good minute each will do. It's a pain but the chemicals are pretty stubborn and often you won't get a nitrate reading at all unless you shake each bottle really hard. I learnt this the hard way
  19. Bristlenoses are pretty fine with everything, I've got a 7cm male in my tank that's about the same size with about the same stocking. Also have a few in my larger tanks and never had any problems with them. They're a pretty staple fish these days I think
  20. Very true! I little while ago I had a couple come into work wanting to buy some tiny fantail goldfish to put in bowls on tables at their wedding reception for a couple of hours. I told them they needed to arrange homes for them afterwards for me to sell them. They ended up buying a huge tank to put them in after the wedding to keep them as a memento - That was pretty neat. But I doubt fish used in TV adverts etc. get the same after curtain call treatment.
  21. Dwarf Chain Loaches are fantastic snail eaters! A school of 6 will have you sorted in a week!
