These are growing in a plastic bin on the side porch with a sheet of glass over it. Gets direct sunlight until about 11am.

Can't normally hear my aquaone cf1200 unless it has air in it, and only about $130 at HFF copes well on my 400l system

just a download rate or sync is meaning less and nothing can really be said about the line other than that it is synced. the important bit is the relationship between SNR, attenuation and sync.

I had an adsl2+ connection/sync in the UK running at a full 24meg down and on a good day 2.6meg up :digH: before street cabs so direct to the exchange, about 400m of copper from modem to dslam

You will only see an increase is sync speed on adsl2+ if you are (off the top of my head) less than 1800 - 2000m from the exchange/cab. That is on a standard noise setting of 6dB, as in NZ all ISPs that I've seen (most dont own there own equipment in the exchange so are at the mercy of telecom wholesale/chorus) use a 12dB profile you will have to be even closer to the DSLAM. Somewhere I have a program that I wrote that will test what the modem sees and can spot if there are problems on the line - not as good as a HAWK (or what ever chorus use here)

I'm with Mark on this, use pvc cement.about $15/18 a small tube/pot last time I brought some.

I would go with a relay and get a sparkie to wire it up.

My big giant kokopu would probably give it a fair go as well. The big black crickets vanish in one mouth full normally.

Sounds good, but you need to get an IBC or a few more drums. But then after it's full you wont need to collect that much water again.

The white striped anemones are trying to take over the rock they came in on, started with 3 now there are at least 3 new small ones as well. May have miss ID'd the crab - look more like mud crabs :dunno: Ammonia has fallen to under .25 at a guess and nitrites look to have peeked and there are some nitrates so the cycle is underway, just have to wait for the longest part of the cycle. Diatoms have started, there is a tiny bit of green algae and it looks like two of the macros are starting to grow. All of the (what looked like) green hair algae got eaten by the shrimp/snails in the first week.

do you know of a calculator that will tell me how long a bit of string I'll need to reach from 'here to there'? You will need to tell the good folks around here what sort of plants, how deep is the water, what the surface area is, what type of LED, what the wattage of each are, the wavelengths the LED produce...
