  1. Does he hear cop sirens a lot where you live? :tears: You see a lot of photos of people's cats with a bird on its head, cats and dogs living in harmony etc. Everyone knows that is not always something you can do so I am sure anyone seeing the lizard on the cat will also know that is not something you can always do without dire consequences for one of the animals, or a lot of specialised training. Keep the personal remarks out of this please. I think you have all given your opinions and it is time to leave it alone.
  2. I forgot you were down there. You mean fish take precedence over an AGM???? :slfg: I will note this as a formal apology.
  3. Nothing wrong with your baking Joe. I hope we will be able to confirm that at the meeting tomorrow?
  4. I have little interest in cooking shows or the Masterchef series but I have started to watch the kids on Aussie junior Masterchef. I am blown away by their efforts and results! What a great bunch of kids. So mature and brilliant cooks!

That explains why the last of those gouramis I bought from you died a couple of years ago then 8)
  6. The most common comment from people, on seeing common BN fry is, "Oh, look at the little white tips on their tails. They look like little flags!"
  7. If you want to lower your pH then keep the driftwood in there, although I have never found driftwood to make much difference to the pH.
  8. I am not alone then!
  9. Actually the hair colour threw me as I did not recognise her. I thought it was a pic of the other woman
  10. The tetras will need their own breeding tank and special conditions re pH, spawning material, lighting etc. Kribs and convicts usually just need water. If you are serious about breeding you need a separate tank for the breeding pair otherwise the eggs and/or fry get eaten and, as said, you need to consider what you will do with the fry.
  11. Some clear pics would help. Has he got red gills? Perhaps he was chased into a small space somewhere and grazed both sides?

    The What's Up? thread.

We had a Classic Car Show today. Any car could enter for a fee od $5 and the public could come and view them for a gold coin donation. All money to go to Marlborough Hospice. We took the MX5 and Chrysler. A lovely, relaxing day chatting with lots of people. They had over 300 cars attend. A few photos can be found here Here is our 1928 next to some other old car. I think Grant said it was a 1978 Corvette 8)
  13. What almost got us killed over there was that some of their roundabouts also have lights! When you are trying hard to figure out which exit is the 5th one, you do not notice a random set of traffic lights in the middle of the roundabout.
  14. Our neighbour is growing his pumpkins in our back section so we can't build our garage extension until they are ripe. The builder just looked at us when we explained that :sml2:
  15. Good to see you were not seriously hurt Stella. Did you not manage to catch a few fish while you were down there? You had 3 hours after all! :gigl:
  16. They should be fine in a 6ft. I think it is because they are best to be kept in a shoal that my friend had trouble with too many, rather than too big, in her 8ft.

I almost did so once but remembered just as it was shimmering on the top edge! I have just made some Afghans. All 29 of them (I don't know where number 30 went :dunno: ) are cooling ready to be iced with melted chocolate and the obligatory walnut.
  18. I have a friend whose balas outgrew her 8ft tank.
  19. Us oldies will be fine as we remember when it used to be the rule
  20. Just had a giggle :gigl: 15 years in IT eh? My husband, Grant, has been in IT since 1977. I knew he was old but sheesh! This makes it clear just how old!!! :sml1: AVG used to be good but has turned to rubbish. We have been installing Microsoft Security Essentials on many computers we have supplied, and use it ourselves, and never had any problems. Earlier versions did but the latest is doing the job. If you want a basic, easy to use, anti-virus programme it is the way to go.
  21. Go for the Microsoft Security Essentials. It's a free download, works well and they have versions for XP, Vista and 7.
